Hi my name is Katie Murphy,
I created this page as part of my goal to advocate for myself and others in Bunclody who face accessibility issues. At 15 years of age, I was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called hereditary spastic paraplegia 11 (SPG11) and I now use a wheelchair.
Very few toilets in Bunclody are accessible for me, I’d like to raise awareness on this. A lot of the facilities in town aren’t suitable for my wheelchair. I’m currently advocating to make the public bathrooms in the town accessible, a lot of my time during my social outings here in the local community is spent worrying about whether there’s a toilet I can get access to. I’d like to make a change and see what we, as a community can do about this.
