More training held this week at the Center Parcs site in Longford.

Ride on roller and abrasive wheels training. Both are designed to provide our workers with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to operate rollers and abrasive wheel equipment safely and effectively in a variety of environments.

The courses teach an understanding of health and safety regulations and for workers to be able to identify the hazards and risks associated with using them.

Where we all belong…

Connaught have been proud sponsors of Michael Glaveys GAA, LGFA and Rounders Club for many years – it's part of our community, it's who we are and what we love, and it's where we all belong.

Even more so nowadays – we have our own Connaught Receptionist Joann who is one of the coaches for the Under 8 Girls Junior Team, and is also a player on the Ladies Intermediate Team.

Connaught has had many Glaveys members and players, and their children play too - from ABC’s to Senior level. GAA is part of our past, our present and our future.

Roy Keane said ‘It's about local pride, that's what GAA is – people representing their parishes and the streets where they grew up.’

We certainly agree - GAA for us is about community, family and unity. Connaught has sponsored team jerseys, match kits, school kits, training jerseys, gear bags and recently goal posts fit for Croke Park, only thing is they don’t have Hawk-Eye!

Glaveys motto is "Ní Neart go Cur Le Chéile". - "There is no strength without working together." We agree, we are Connaught!

Ride on Roller training across the Connaught sites.

Ride on roller training is designed to provide our workers with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to operate rollers safely and effectively in a variety of environments. The course covered key topics such as machine familiarization, health and safety regulations, operational techniques, and preventive maintenance.

Yet more essential training to keep our employees and their worksites safe!

Abrasive Wheel training across the Connaught sites.

An abrasive wheel is a wheel that grinds, cuts or smooths materials, rotating at high speeds to do this effectively. This includes grinders commonly used in metalwork and on construction sites and training includes fixed and removable abrasive wheels.

This training is an essential legal requirement for anyone involved in working with abrasive wheels, and focuses on the safe and effective use, including safe storage, identifying abrasive wheels, selecting the most appropriate equipment for specific situations, inspecting and identifying damaged wheels, mounting an abrasive wheel and understanding the hazards and risks associated with using them.

Our condolences go to the family of a man found dead in Limerick following an accident at a derelict property on Monday.

We feel the need to clarify that Connaught has no involvement whatsoever with this tragic event.

Internet photos show one of our excavators in the background, but our site is separate to where the accident took place and Connaught has no affiliation or connection to this. We have reported the photo asking for it to be removed.

We are committed to following the most rigorous of safety standards and are deeply saddened by the loss of any construction worker under these circumstances.

We were delighted that Mick O’Halloran has been awarded Worker of the Month by Pat McMahon, Site Foreman at Stewart’s Construction site in Renmore.

Mick is consistently proactive with safety on site and sets a great example for the team.

Connaught follows Stewarts mindset that “safety isn’t just a priority—it’s a core value embedded in everything we do.”

All of our site nominees will be entered into an end-of-year draw.
