Air Conditioning Maintenance – Why bother?
As warmer temperatures are creeping in and earlier than we expected it’s now a good time to think about getting your Air Conditioning (AC) equipment cleaned and inspected. It is amazing how a good clean can improve the performance of the air conditioning equipment and reduce unnecessary service calls between planned maintenance visits. Air filters, heat exchanger coils, condensate drains need regular cleaning to keep the equipment in good working order.
Our Engineers at BSE Air Conditioning and Refrigeration are here to answer your questions and give advice. We provide service throughout Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and Nationwide. Contact us on (01) 6016434 or visit us at https://www.bseairconditioning.ie/
Air Filters & Heat Exchangers
Replacing or cleaning the indoor filter can dramatically reduce the running cost of an AC unit by about 10%. The function of a filter is simple, catch the dirt before it reaches the heat exchanger coil where it can do real damage.
The indoor and outdoor heat exchanger coils have a very important function, that of heat transfer. If the coils are blocked with dirt or damaged, this will reduce air flow over the coils reducing the heat transfer capacity of the equipment considerably.
Drains
Cleaning and disinfecting drain pipes and trays must be done regularly. When temperature rises, the amount of moisture in the air also rises, so the air conditioning unit must deal with. A jelly like substance, slime mold is formed which blocks the drain pipe from the AC unit. Blocked drain overflow can damage ceiling, floor tiles and electronic equipment. When this mold dries out, it can release spores into the air steam which can be unhealthy and causes a skin irritation. Inspecting Air Conditioning Performance
Its only now after the ac unit has been cleaned, we are able to inspect the system to see if it is performing to the manufactures specification. Here we require another very special set of skills which comes from years of experience which allows us to assess the actual performance of the equipment. We can check refrigerant charge, inspect for refrigerant leaks, check all temperature sensors for calibration, check to see if all the fans & valves are operating correctly and determine if the equipment is operating to its maximum efficiency.
How can BSE Air Conditioning and Refrigeration help?
We provide scheduled air conditioning preventive maintenance visits to ensure that your air conditioning equipment will be working to its maximum efficiency. Our preventive maintenance visits are designed to assess the status of your equipment, reduce energy consumption, minimise and avoid refrigerant leaks and make necessary corrective adjustments or repairs before catastrophic failure occurs.
