Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Health Safety & Quality Manager to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing/promoting a positive safety culture across all projects and ensuring compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation. P&D Lydon have and expect the highest standards of all aspects of Health Safety and Quality and the successful candidate will be liaising with Directors/Senior Management, all clients (Public and Semi State Bodies), third parties, specialists and all employees to achieve the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Management of existing SHEQ department
• Managing and Promoting SHEQ in all aspects of the business
• Manage & carry out regular site audits and inspections (formal and informal)
• Analyse safety data and identify trends for continuous improvement
• Develop, review and maintain H&S policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with legislation
• Prepare project specific Health & Safety Plans
• Support and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, including reporting and corrective actions
• Deliver inductions and support internal training programmes
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, campaigns and internal communications
• Support maintenance of ISO and Safe-T-Cert accreditation systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
Requirements:
• Minimum Level 7 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
• Previous experience in a similar role within construction/civil engineering
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office required; SHEQ systems an advantage)
• Full, clean driving licence essential
