Today is Saga Dawa Düchen, the 'Festival of Vaishakha".

It celebrates Buddha Shakyamuni’s enlightenment and parinirvana. At the age of thirty-five Buddha attained enlightenment at Bodhgaya. This day also marks the anniversary of his parinirvana at Kushinagara.

It is a very powerful day for any positive action as the merit is multiplied by 10 million.

All merit can be dedicated to a loved one and all sentient beings.
