Dornan's Charity Golf Day 2026 brought clients, suppliers and sponsors together at Essendon Country Club in Hertfordshire for a brilliant day in support of Construction Youth Trust.

The day included individual and team competitions, along with Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin, with plenty of friendly competition throughout.

A big thank you to all 22 suppliers and sponsors, as well as the 18 clients and guests who joined us and helped to make the event such a success through their support, sponsorship and generous prize donations.

A major lifting operation at UCB Windlesham saw five 10-tonne air source heat pumps successfully lifted onto a purpose-built service gantry using a 450-tonne mobile crane.

Delivered as part of a life science refurbishment project, the operation was a great example of careful planning, precision and teamwork across the lift team, engineers and construction managers.

Dornan has been on site since January 2025, delivering the MEP fitout of Buildings A & B.

As General Contractor, Dornan is delivering the full civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scope, with a continued focus on safe, sustainable and collaborative delivery.

These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our project team, subcontractors and partners, whose collective efforts continue to drive the project forward.

We’re proud to announce the launch of Constructing Equality Ireland, a new industry-led initiative bringing organisations together to accelerate gender equality across Ireland’s built environment sector. As a Founding Partner, Dornan is committed to working with industry peers to develop practical, evidence-based solutions to improve the attraction, retention and progression of women across the industry. Commenting on this initiative Micheál O’Connor, Group Managing Director at Dornan and Executive Sponsor of Constructing Equality Ireland said:

“Dornan has seen first-hand the value of creating an environment where women can thrive through our successful Women @ Dornan employee resource group. We are delighted to build on that work as a founding partner of Constructing Equality to accelerate meaningful progress on gender equality across Ireland.”

Over the coming months, industry roundtables will bring organisations together to share insights and identify barriers and opportunities for women in construction. The first roundtable takes place on 6 October and will focus on attracting women into construction through early-career recruitment pathways. More details about the roundtables will be released soon.

Findings from the roundtables will inform an industry-wide Gender Equality Action Plan, designed to provide practical and actionable support for organisations of all sizes. We encourage organisations across the sector to join the conversation and help shape a more equal future for our industry.

As part of our ongoing commitment to health and wellbeing, we recently introduced the SiSU Health Station across a number of our UK sites, giving our operatives, staff, and subcontractors the opportunity to complete a free, five-minute health check during the working day.

By measuring key health indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate and BMI, colleagues received personalised health insights and were encouraged to take positive steps towards their wellbeing.
