Antrim, Solmatix are a leading provider of renewable energy technologies for commercial, agricultural and domestic customers. Solmatix’s entry into the now highly competitive renewable energy marketplace has proven to be timely. Reserves of fossil fuels are dwindling and ever greater emphasis is being placed upon renewable sources to combat climate change. Solmatix is hitting well above its weight in this arena and is acting with both prudence and vision in developing strong relationships with international leaders in the fields of Solar PV, Solar water heating and Biomass Boilers, including BRE, UserHuus (Swiss) Queen’s University Belfast, and CSEM (Swiss). And as its work at South West College in County Fermanagh shows, the company is now also leading the field in the UK in its adoption of Battery Power technology to harness and store excess renewable energy form Solar PV.

Huge congratulations to the Turkington family and the entire team on reaching their 75-year milestone and opening their new showroom in Portadown.

Seventy-five years in business is an exceptional achievement, reflecting the hard work, commitment and ambition of generations of people who have helped shape its success.

At Solmatix, we’re proud to be part of the next chapter through our new partnership with Turkington Windows & Conservatories, helping homeowners access solar energy alongside their home improvements and make their homes more energy efficient.

It’s a pleasure to work with a fellow Northern Ireland business that shares our commitment to quality and looking after customers.

Wishing the whole team every success with the new showroom and the years ahead. A milestone well worth celebrating!

Looked at solar before, but put the decision on hold?

It could be time for a fresh conversation.

Enhanced SEAI grant support may change the upfront investment required for an eligible new solar PV project in the Republic of Ireland.

If cost was the reason you paused, reviewing the figures could help you understand whether solar now makes commercial sense.

At Solmatix, we start with your electricity use, available roof space and operating patterns to assess the opportunity for your site.

Get in touch to revisit your plans and explore your next steps.

Could the unused space above your business become a productive energy asset?

Manufacturing businesses often have large roof areas and significant daytime electricity demand. Where the building and consumption profile are suitable, solar PV can allow more of that demand to be met through electricity generated on site.

But system size alone does not determine success.

A commercial solar project should consider:
• The organisation’s electricity profile
• Operational hours and production patterns
• Roof condition and structural capacity
• Available electrical infrastructure
• Potential shading
• Future changes to the business
• Monitoring and maintenance requirements

Solmatix has delivered renewable energy projects for businesses across the UK and Ireland, helping customers take greater control of how their electricity is generated and used.

If your roof has potential, our team can help you understand it.

Through our place on the London lot of Mercia Energy’s Solar PV Framework, we’re ready to help more schools and Multi-Academy Trusts take their next step.

Planning solar panels or battery storage for your home? There’s a VAT change to keep in mind.

Under current HMRC rules, qualifying residential installations are 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. From 1 April 2027, the rate is scheduled to become 5%. Qualifying standalone battery installations can also benefit from the current 0% rate.

If you’re considering an installation, now is a good time to explore what would work for your home. Speak to the Solmatix team about a system tailored to your energy needs.

Own Your Power. Visit solmatix.com.

VAT eligibility and treatment depend on the details of the installation and the rules in force when it is supplied.

A successful renewable energy installation begins long before equipment arrives on site.

Behind every Solmatix project is a detailed process that can include:
• Site survey and energy assessment
• Electrical and structural design
• Planning and technical approvals
• Equipment specification and procurement
• Installation and commissioning
• Monitoring, servicing and ongoing support

Each stage matters.

The objective is not simply to install as many panels as possible. It is to develop a safe,
dependable and appropriately designed system that reflects the customer’s property, electricity consumption and longer-term plans.

Our team works with businesses, public sector organisations, farms and homeowners across the UK and Ireland, supporting projects from the first conversation through to completion and aftercare.

That is how we help our customers Own Their Power.
