Gas prices are already 90% higher than four years ago in Ireland.

What would a radiator that reduces energy consumption with up to 55% do for you?

"You overpaid."

That was the neighbour's comment.

He didn't know you were now selling electricity from your own roof instead of purchasing from the grid.

How to get service ASAP:

Call your solar company because you have a problem.

"Next available appointment? Two weeks."

Hang up. Call again.

"I want a bigger system."

"We can be there within the hour."

The electricity challenge in Europe is changing.

It is no longer simply about producing more electricity.

Wind and solar can create periods of surplus, while demand from industry, heating, EVs and buildings creates pressure at other times.

The problem is increasingly about timing.

Ireland has now published its first national assessment of flexibility needs, while Great Britain is expanding flexibility markets to help businesses shift electricity use and manage network constraints.

We believe commercial and industrial buildings can become part of the solution.

Reduce what does not need to be used. Optimise what already exists. Shift what can be shifted. Store what needs to be stored.

Then add generation where it actually creates value.

The future energy system will not only need more power.

It will need to become much better at using the power it already has.

"Your price is too high."

Don't compare a potato with an apple.

They may both feed you, but one needs a lot more work before it gets to the table.

The same applies to energy systems.

Price isn't always the cost.

When is the best time to buy an energy system?

Timing can affect the price more than you think.

Installing in winter can mean longer lead times, more difficult working conditions and higher costs.

Sometimes the cheapest time to buy is before you need it.

Property owner: "I don't need solar or a battery."

Same property owner one week later:

"How fast can we get it installed?"

Why?

Electricity prices suddenly changed the calculation.
