Another successful project completed by Poles Apart — this time at the impressive Irish operations of Eli Lilly and Company in Raheen Business Park, Limerick.
Our team carried out the safe removal and disposal of the existing flagpoles, followed by the supply, delivery and installation of three new premium fibreglass hinged-based flagpoles at the main entrance to the site:

Another successful project completed by Poles Apart.

We were delighted to carry out the safe removal and disposal of the existing flagpoles, followed by the installation of 2 x 6-metre and 1 x 7-metre Premium Hinged Base Fibreglass Flagpoles at the iconic Monaghan Credit Union.

As part of the works, we also converted their center flagpole to become an independent emergency meeting point sign, which identifies the designated assembly point for Credit Union emergencies. Preserving this important safety feature ensured the site maintained clear emergency procedures while benefiting from its new upgraded flagpole installation.

Our premium hinged base system allows for safe and efficient future maintenance at ground level, significantly reducing the need for working at height and helping ensure safer long-term servicing — something we place huge importance on at Poles Apart.

🇮🇪 Flagpole Refurbishment & Realignment at Coláiste Cois Life, Lucan 🇮🇪

At Poles Apart, we often say that a flagpole should stand tall, proud, and straight — much like the values of the schools and communities they represent.

We were recently delighted to complete the refurbishment of three flagpoles and the straightening of a fourth flagpole that had become significantly out of plumb at Coláiste Cois Life, Lucan, County Dublin.

Founded in 1995, Coláiste Cois Life has established itself as one of Ireland’s leading Irish-language secondary schools, providing a high standard of education through the medium of Irish while fostering academic excellence, culture, sport, and community spirit. The school continues to play an important role in promoting the Irish language and heritage among future generations.

Over time, exposure to Ireland’s ever-changing weather can take its toll on even the most robust flagpole installations. Our works included:

✅ Restoration of operational functionality
✅ Straightening and re-securing of a severely leaning flagpole

☘️ ROSSBEIGH BEACH, CO. KERRY – READY FOR SUMMER! ☀️🌊

There are some jobs where you arrive, do the work and head home…

And then there are jobs where you spend half the day wondering if you’ve accidentally arrived in a postcard! 📸

Our latest project brought us to the breathtaking coastal village of Rossbeigh, where Poles Apart recently installed 4 x 6 metre seasonal lifeguard flagpoles against one of the most spectacular backdrops Ireland has to offer. With the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before us and the magnificent Kerry mountains standing proudly behind, it’s fair to say the office view wasn’t too bad for the day!

These flagpoles play a vital role in helping to keep beach users safe throughout the busy summer season, providing clear and visible signals to the public regarding lifeguard presence and water conditions. Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or just paddling with the family, those flags can provide important information that should never be ignored.

🚩 Remember:
• Always swim at a lifeguarded beach whenever possible.
• Observe and understand the flags being flown.
• Never underestimate the power of the Atlantic Ocean, even on the calmest summer day.

In a great example of practical thinking and public safety, Kerry County Council have embraced an innovative system whereby the flagpole ground anchors are recessed below ground level and sealed with a cover when the poles are removed. This eliminates potential trip hazards during the off-season while keeping the site neat, tidy and safe for everyone.

And because anyone who has spent a winter on Ireland’s west coast knows that the Atlantic can occasionally become “a little breezy” 🌬️😂, these poles will be removed at the end of the season and safely stored away, protecting them from the full force of Kerry’s famous winter weather.

A huge thank you to Kerry County Council for their continued commitment to public safety and for helping ensure that Rossbeigh remains one of Ireland’s safest and most beautiful beaches to enjoy this summer.

A sincere thank you to the management team and everyone involved with Kildysart GAA for their kind acknowledgment of myself and Poles Apart at their recent Race Night event held in the wonderful Corner Bar, Kildysart.

It was an absolute honour to sponsor and donate the 3 premium flagpoles now proudly standing pitch-side at the club grounds alongside the newly completed perimeter walkway around the football field.

As somebody with strong local roots, it gives me immense pride to see the installation now forming part of such a fantastic community facility — a place where future generations of young players, supporters and families will gather for many years to come.

I would also like to especially acknowledge and thank the club for the beautiful commemorative plaque they erected beside the flagpoles in recognition of the donation. That gesture was deeply appreciated and something I am genuinely very proud of.

Grassroots clubs like Kildysart GAA are the heartbeat of rural Ireland. They are built on volunteerism, community spirit and people pulling together for the greater good — and long may that continue.

Another premium transformation completed by Poles Apart 👌🇮🇪

We were delighted to carry out this brand new custom installation of 4 x 5-metre banner flagpoles for Dunne Motors, Sallynoggin, Dublin.

This project involved the complete removal of the existing street lights and poles which previously stood in front of the premises, followed by the installation of a sleek new banner flagpole system which has now given the entire property true “Kurb Appeal” and a far stronger visual identity from the roadside.

The before, during and after photographs really tell the story of this transformation. What was once a cluttered frontage has now been turned into a clean, modern and professional entrance that immediately catches the eye.

To ensure minimal disruption to the daily operations of the business, all works were carefully carried out out-of-hours, allowing Dunne Motors to continue trading with as little interruption as possible — something we always strive for on commercial projects.

At Poles Apart, we believe that flagpoles are more than just poles… when designed and positioned correctly, they become part of a company’s branding, presence and first impression.

Preparing the iconic flagpoles on top of the historic General Post Office for both St. Patrick’s Day and Easter Sunday is always a tremendous honour for Poles Apart. 🇮🇪

This specialist project required the full coordination and organisation of a scaffolding company, who arrived early in the morning to safely erect the scaffolding towers before returning again later that afternoon to completely dismantle them — ensuring that the rooftop presentation was ready for the eyes of Ireland and the world’s TV cameras.

The deep cleaning and close-up inspection of all 3 flagpoles also allowed us to produce a detailed written condition report, highlighting all existing abrasions and cracks currently present on the poles.

As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, preservation and innovation, we also introduced an auxiliary feeder line system to greatly reduce the future need for scaffolding access whenever a halyard line breaks.

Standing proudly above Dublin’s O’Connell Street, these historic flagpoles hold enormous significance in Irish history, as it was here at the GPO during the 1916 Rising that the Irish Tricolour was first raised as a symbol of Irish independence.

To play even a small role in preserving and presenting such an important national symbol is something we are immensely proud of. ☘️🇮🇪
