FOAK?
(and no, this is not a curse word 😁)

Over the past few days we've seen two significant FOAK (first-of-a-kind) climate-tech breaking news stories.

In Boden, Sweden, H2 Green Steel raised €4.25 Billion (nearly $5.2B) for the world's first large-scale green steel project. The plant will use hydrogen produced from renewable electricity (instead of coal) - to deliver steel in a process emitting as much as 95% less CO2 than "traditional" steel (https://www.reuters.com/business/swedens-h2-green-steel-raises-52-bln-new-funding-2024-01-22/).

In Soperton, Georgia, USA, LanzaJet has announced the opening of the world's first ethanol to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility. It is aiming to produce 10 million gallons of SAF and renewable diesel per year from low carbon, sustainable and certified ethanol as part of the White House’s SAF Grand Challenge, which calls for a supply of at least 3 billion gallons of SAF annually by 2030 to tangibly reduce aviation emissions. ⏳⏳⏳ Europe's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is coming to board rooms everywhere soon.

The CSRD stands for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. It is a new EU legislation amending the existing reporting requirements of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD).
