New Launch: DJI O4 Ground Station

One of the biggest challenges in BVLOS drone operations is connectivity. Range is one of the quiet constraints that decides whether drone operations are practical at scale, and the O4 Ground Station addresses this problem head-on. If you operate a Matrice 4 Series or Matrice 400 fleet, it's hardware you can put to work now to extend your missions.

The new DJI O4 Ground Station extends the reach of DJI Dock 3, Matrice 4 Series (up to 18km CE) and DJI M400 (up to 25km CE) operations through a ruggedised 12-antenna transmission system, supporting reliable wide-area drone operations, even in challenging environments.

Most infrastructure inspections are still reactive. Something fails, a crew is mobilised, access is arranged and only then can somebody properly assess the situation.

The delay is often not fixing the issue. It's getting visibility quickly enough.

A DJI docked drone can be deployed within minutes to provide a live aerial overview, thermal assessment or closer inspection of an asset - meaning faster decision making, fewer unnecessary callouts and safer inspections.

Finally back at the desk this week after 2026, due to a slightly delayed return thanks to the Middle East disruption - but still thinking about what was a genuinely different kind of drone event.

NestGen wasn’t a typical “conference” - No decks. No hard selling. No noise.

Instead, it was a room full of operators, people actually building and deploying drone dock solutions; having honest conversations about what’s working, what’s not, and where this industry is really going.

Companies from across the world who are approaching the same technological and regulatory problems from a completely different angle. That’s what made it so valuable; seeing the range of thinking, creativity, innovation and the willingness to share lessons openly.

On a personal note, it was great to be nominated for “The Innovator” award by that group. Winning it, on behalf of GeoAerospace for , our dock shared-service model for urban centers, was a surprise, given the level of innovation in the group. But more than anything, it felt like recognition of the broader shift happening across the industry - a collective push to move from concept to real, scalable dock operations.

The “retreat” format really worked. It gave everyone space to step back from day-to-day ex*****on and properly engage. Huge credit must go to , and especially Nitin and his genius team, for organising what was an action packed event and bringing together such a strong group of like minded people. They also did something I thought was genuinely kind...inviting our partners in crime along on the journey to India. The people behind the scenes who support the madness of building these companies.

One thing is now crystal clear: the pace of innovation in this space isn’t slowing down anytime soon 🚀

Our drone dock hybrid vehicle is capable of delivering autonomous aerial capability wherever and whenever it is needed.

Integrated with the Dock 3 and soon to be deployed as part of our platform, this vehicle will enable 24/7 autonomous drone operations, supporting missions day and night.

The system automatically houses, charges, and deploys the aircraft, with missions triggered remotely or scheduled in advance. Live video, telemetry, and captured data are streamed securely to GeoAIR and to authorised client users in real time.

This capability is particularly valuable for:

1) Emergency response and rapid deployment scenarios
2) Temporary security coverage at critical or high-risk sites or events
3) Routine infrastructure inspection and asset monitoring
4) Short-term or mobile mapping and survey requirements
5) Situations where permanent dock installation is not practical
