How well does our Dual Luciferase Reporter Assay perform?

We recently published validation data looking at two important factors in dual-reporter experiments: Firefly quenching and background luminescence.

The results showed:

• >99.9% Firefly quenching before the Renilla measurement
• Very low auto-luminescence, helping minimise background signal

Effective Firefly inhibition is important when measuring Renilla immediately afterwards, particularly when Renilla is being used as the internal control for normalisation.

How stable are your cell viability assay reagents over time?

In our validation studies, CellQuant-Lux 2.0 retained 80% of its signal after 9 weeks at 4 °C, while CellQuant-Lux 3D retained 95% of its signal after one week at room temperature.

Reagent stability matters when experiments are spread across multiple plates, days or weeks. Changes in reagent performance over time can introduce another source of variability into your data.
