We celebrated World Down Syndrome Day at Tara Mines by joining the “Lots of Socks” campaign 💙💛
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved - wearing their odd socks, sharing photos, and voting. It’s great to see the support across site raising awareness for Down syndrome.

A special thank you to our colleague Conal Kelleher, Drill and Blast Technician, who helped bring this initiative to Tara Mines and shared his personal experience as a parent. His story was a powerful reminder of focusing on ability, inclusion, and opportunity.

He also received the majority of the votes and was chosen as our “Lots of Socks” winner, proudly wearing blue and yellow in support of the global Down syndrome awareness colours.

We’re currently recruiting an Environmental Engineer to join Boliden Tara Mines. You will support the operation and its leadership team to achieve best practice environmental performance and compliance with our operating licenses.
In this role you will require a degree in science, environmental engineering or related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of experience.

✨ Thank you, Gerry! ✨

After an incredible 43 years at Tara Mines, our longest-serving team member Gerry McDonagh is retiring at the end of December. Since joining Tara in 1982, Gerry has seen it all - and played a huge part in shaping our journey. Known for his knowledge, great humour and legendary underground tours, he leaves behind a legacy that will live on.

From all of us — thank you, Gerry, and all the very best for the next chapter! 👏
