This Semi detached house , built in the Mid 90’s , has been transformed massively by a deep Retrofit.
This Deep Retrofit began with the Removal of ground floor screed and sub floor, to allow for new insulation and underfloor heating. The rear elevation of the house, facing out onto the original patio consisted of a window and old-style patio sliding door. In order to brighten up and to create a greater sense of space, steel lintels beams were installed to allow for the removal of both the old patio door, window and the wall in between, this creating a large opening for a large triple glazed A-rated composite sliding door. This opens out onto a newly paved patio, perfect for bright summer evening dining. With the addition of new A-rated – triple glazed windows and doors also throughout the house along with airtightness , pumped cavity and attic insulation, this ensured our client was going to reap the rewards of their new Air to water Heat pump.
Following on from installation of windows and doors the house was finished out with well selected tiles, flooring kitchen , utility and internal doors, brought the house back to life , giving it a completely new look.
This project just proves what can be achieved in a 12 week timeframe, bringing this house to a BER Rated A2 with ease.
