🚨 We’re Hiring – Health & Safety Officer (Part-Time)
Crowley Engineering is currently seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join our team at our facility in Upper Glanmire, Cork.
Established in 1972, Crowley Engineering specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of dry bulk handling equipment. While our early focus was supporting the agricultural sector, today we deliver engineered solutions across a wide range of industries including quarries, food production, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Operating from our 12-acre site in Cork, which includes two large fabrication workshops and multiple storage facilities, our team of 85+ employees is committed to delivering innovative, high-quality engineering solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Health & Safety professional to join a well-established Cork engineering company and play a key role in maintaining and improving our strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare Health & Safety Plans and Risk Assessments for company projects
• Assist with site audits and reporting
• Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation
• Support management and site supervisors with a proactive approach to H&S
• Conduct H&S inductions and manual handling training
• Assist Contracts Managers with method statements and site-specific risk assessments
• Carry out risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning
• Investigate incidents and accidents and implement corrective actions
• Maintain training, incident, and compliance records
• Manage customer H&S portals and subcontractor compliance documentation
• Review and update the company Safety Statement annually
• Coordinate H&S training programmes and toolbox talks
The Ideal Candidate
✔ Third-level qualification in Health & Safety
✔ Minimum 3 years’ experience in an operational, contracting, or construction-related H&S role in Ireland
✔ Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
✔ Excellent communication skills
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔ Good understanding of Irish Health & Safety legislation
✔ Full clean driving licence
Role Details
📍 Location: Upper Glanmire, Cork (office-based)
🕒 Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
💰 Salary: €25,000 – €30,000 per year (depending on experience)
