Great night at the Fleet Transport Awards 2027! 🏆
We were proud to be named finalists for the Customer Service Excellence Award, standing alongside some of the best names in Irish transport and haulage.

We didn't take home the trophy this time, but being recognised in that company means a lot to us.

None of it happens without our team. Every inspection, every report, every early start and late call to keep a customer's fleet on the road is what earned us a place on that list.

Thank you all, I'm genuinely proud of what our team has built together.

Congratulations to the winners and to all the finalists. It was great to connect with so many people who care about doing things right in this industry.

🛞🛞Tyre defects🛞🛞 – are they being picked up during daily walkaround checks?

Tyres are one of the most important safety components on any vehicle, yet we continue to find defects during our inspections that should have been identified before the vehicle left the yard.

These pictures are examples of defects identified during our routine vehicle inspections.

Cuts, bulges, exposed cords, punctures, uneven wear and insufficient tread depth are all issues that drivers should be looking for during their daily walkaround checks.

A driver walkaround check shouldn't be a tick-box exercise. It's an important part of a fleet operator's maintenance and road safety responsibilities.

The question is simple: Are drivers carrying out effective checks, or just completing the paperwork?

At Automotive Inspect Ltd, we regularly assess the quality of driver walkaround checks and provide practical training to help operators improve defect identification and reporting.

A few minutes spent checking a vehicle could prevent a serious incident.

Wheel nut indicators are a great visual aid — but they’re not a wheel nut check.

They might look fine, but that doesn’t mean the wheel nuts are tight.

A proper physical check is still essential. Loose wheel nuts can have serious consequences.

Don’t just look. Check. 🔧

With the kids back to school, every parent is saying the same thing: "Stay in your seat and keep your belt on."

After inspecting this bus, we'd settle for keeping them inside the bus!

Reaching the finalist stage is a fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the hard work, dedication and high standard of service our team delivers to customers every day.
