Great to welcome students from Coláiste Chiaráin to Croom Medical this week.

They saw how we 3D-print tantalum with TALOS™, the additive manufacturing platform we developed with Global Advanced Metals, and the knee implants we make for orthopaedic companies around the world.

Thank you to Tom Feehan and the students for their questions and interest. It's always good to show the next generation what engineering and manufacturing look like here in Croom.

From Croom to the edge of space. Still rooted at home.

Paddy Byrnes started Croom Medical in a small workshop in 1984. Today, our team makes advanced orthopaedic technologies for customers around the world, including a 3D-printed titanium implant that travelled to the edge of space.

That growth creates skilled careers here in Croom and lets us keep investing in the community that has backed us from the beginning.

Croom Medical welcomes Dr. Edward Chadwick to the team as Senior Director of Operations.

Edward brings more than fifteen years of operational & engineering leadership experience from two of the largest medical device manufacturing companies in the world, having taken on roles of increasing responsibility & scope across Europe and Asia. He has managed manufacturing sites, shaped manufacturing strategies, and led operations at plant and multi-site level internationally.

He holds BSc & MSc Degrees in Manufacturing & Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Limerick.

At Croom Medical, Edward will lead Site Operations as we commission and bring online our new 38,000 sq ft ACOT facility. His focus will be on delivering high quality medical device manufacturing to our customers while building the site efficiency and strategy to scale.

Joe brings senior quality leadership from across the medical device, automotive, and aerospace industries, with a proven record of bringing new manufacturing facilities to full validated production.

As Croom Medical expands, quality remains the foundation of everything we do. Joe strengthens that foundation for the OEMs we partner with and the patients they serve.

A patient-specific talus or ankle implant, 3D-printed in titanium or cobalt chrome, to your design.

Titanium sits closer to bone in modulus and comes out lighter. Cobalt chrome brings the hardness and wear resistance an articulating surface can call for. The implant and the application decide which, and we 3D-print it either way, traceable from powder lot to finished component.

Our additive manufacturing capacity is growing too. ACOT, our advanced manufacturing facility now under construction, will bring even more of the manufacturing process in-house and add capacity for the OEMs who scale with us.
