H&MV Engineering is a trusted name in the electric power transmission industry. Established in 1997

We provide comprehensive specialist services to industry and construction for Design, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of transmission and distribution networks. Our engineering staff is highly experienced and receive regular specialist training. The company management is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace that will protect the wellbeing of employees and clients alike.

Over the last number of years H&MV have become vastly experienced in the design and build of 110kV, 38kV and 20kV substations. We have a wide range of expertise in site electrical infrastructure and Sub-Station connection in renewables, data centres, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals throughout Ireland and the UK. With our understanding of Grid codes and HV interface requirements we are able to guide our clients through the grid connection process. H&MV will procure HV equipment and cable from approved suppliers to the specification required by Eirgrid and ESB. With our highly dedicated and trained engineers we design, install and commission substations to required grid standards. Thumper

⚡🔋 Project Update: 110 kV BESS Station – K38 Dahlem

Major milestones achieved at H&MV Engineering as we push this landmark 100 MW / 203 MWh BESS project – developed and to be operated by Kyon Energy Solutions GmbH, project developer and long-term operator of large-scale battery storage systems in Germany.

We’re excited to share that:
✅ Grid transformers successfully delivered
✅ BESS & MVP units now delivered to site
✅ Cabling works nearing completion
✅ Transitioning into the commissioning phase

This marks a significant step forward as the project moves from construction into energisation readiness, bringing us closer to delivering a smarter, more resilient energy system.

With two 110 kV A.I.S transformer feeders, this development will play a key role in enhancing grid stability and supporting the integration of renewable energy.

At H&MV Engineering, we are proud to be responsible for the civil and electrical works, ensuring seamless and high-quality ex*****on while supporting Kyon Energy Solutions GmbH in delivering critical energy infrastructure.

We were delighted to welcome colleagues from ESB Networks and H&MV Engineering to site for a focused and engaging day centred on safety, collaboration, and delivery excellence.

As 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 on this flagship project, the session provided a valuable opportunity to share progress, strengthen partnerships, and reinforce the behaviours required to deliver safely at every stage.

A key highlight was the launch of our workforce engagement initiative with 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧 and the 𝐏𝐞𝐩𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 team. This programme will enable continuous real-time feedback on project morale, and engagement —an important step in creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone on site.

We’re proud to officially launch the 8th Annual H&MV Charity Cycle, taking place on 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 along the scenic 𝐒𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲.

What began as a simple initiative has grown into an important tradition for H&MV Engineering, bringing together employees, partners, families, and supporters to make a real difference. Since the first cycle, the event has raised over €𝟑𝟓𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝.

This year, we are proud to continue our partnerships with Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Dillon Quirke Foundation, two organisations doing incredible work to support people and families across the country.

𝐔.𝐒. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝟑𝟒𝟓 𝐤𝐕 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ⚡

At H&MV Engineering, we’re proud to highlight an important milestone on the 345 kV substation, in Cochise County, Arizona, delivered in partnership with our group company Cooke Power Services.

Civil works are approaching completion, with transformer foundations now fully prepared for delivery. On-site equipment installation has officially begun—marking a significant milestone in the progression of this critical grid infrastructure project.

In its initial phase, the project will facilitate the interconnection of 160 MW of solar photovoltaic generation to the grid, strengthening capacity for renewable integration.

Designed with future energy demands in mind, the development will also support an 80 MW solar array alongside an 80 MW battery energy storage system, both scheduled to come online in 2027.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate enough clean energy annually to power approximately 11,000 homes.

We’re proud to share that H&MV Engineering has continued its partnership with The Lighthouse Charity, supporting vital initiatives focused on mental health in the construction industry.

Over the past year, we’ve collaborated on a number of charitable events to raise both awareness and funds for this important cause. Most recently, we marked our Lighthouse Pledge Renewal in the UK, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of those working across the sector.

As part of this, we also hosted an internal Lunch & Learn session with Ellesse Parris, Partnership Manager at Lighthouse, providing valuable insights into the support available through the charity.

The Lighthouse Charity offers free 24/7 emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families — a service that makes a real difference every day.
