Lots of damage been done with the storm this morning. We repair all damaged roofs on houses or farm buildings and can deal with your insurance company if need be. Be sure to contact your insurance company early as they will be busy after this.

⚠️ Warning

The last thing on peoples minds at the moment is keeping their homes warm or lighting their stoves or fires but unfortunately the cold weather will return at some stage. So now is the perfect time to have your chimney checked when it’s not been used. The picture below shows the dangers of a chimney stack that wasn’t inspected when the first crack appeared. While it didn’t appear bad on the outside it actually had burst the chimney under the roof tiles and had burned the rafters and ridge board completely through. Unbelievable that the whole house wasn’t burned and the homeowner didn’t even know. In certain cases there is also a carbon monoxide danger with this type of damage.

If your chimney is cracked on the outside, this is most likely what the liners look like on the inside. If not detected and repaired in time, the water ingress and tar leaks through the stack and filters through to walls and ceilings and this results in a much bigger job.
