ONE SYSTEM, ENGINEERED AROUND FRUIT RIPENING
Banana ripening is not a standard storage process. Pallet movement, chamber loading, airflow, throughput and system control all need to operate together.
For Compagnie Fruitière in London, Moffett Automation designed, built, controls and supports a complete automated pallet storage system around this specialised operation.
The integrated system combines purpose-designed features:
πΉ Pressed zero-gap storage designed around the required airflow
πΉ Airtight ripening chambers integrated into the automated process
πΉ Moffett Automation WCS intelligence controlling pallet storage, traffic and route scheduling
The result is physical automation and software-driven intelligence operating as one system, controlling and coordinating every pallet movement.
Together, they manage one continuous journey - from arrival and ripening through to storage and dispatch.
The system incorporates 1,800 pallet locations, 8 Moffett Automation Taxis and 2 Vertical Transfer Units, supporting inbound and outbound throughput of 42 pallets per hour.
Operational since 2021, the project demonstrates what Moffett Automation means by an integrated system: automation engineered around the customerβs operation, with clear responsibility from physical movement through to intelligent control.
