WHY WAIT UNTIL SPRING TO START PLANNING YOUR SOLAR?
When most people think about installing solar panels, they picture long summer days and plenty of sunshine.

But there's a good reason to start thinking about solar during the winter months.
Planning ahead gives you time to make the right decisions for your home.
At EnergyServ, every installation begins with understanding the property and its energy requirements.

That includes:
- PROPERTY ASSESSMENT — Reviewing available roof space, orientation and shading.
- SYSTEM DESIGN — Considering electricity consumption, suitable solar PV capacity and battery storage where appropriate.
- INSTALLATION PLANNING — Allowing time for quotations, design, technical considerations and scheduling.
- PREPARING FOR SPRING — Getting the planning process underway before the longer, brighter days arrive.

Solar PV can be installed throughout the year where weather and site conditions permit, but planning doesn't need to wait for installation day.
START PLANNING IN WINTER. BE READY FOR WHAT'S NEXT.

Our Sunday Solar Question:
Would you start planning your solar installation now, or would you wait until spring?

Supporting care with smarter energy solutions.
Nursing homes are places where comfort, care and reliable electricity are essential every day.

At Cherrygrove Nursing Home, EnergyServ has delivered a solar PV installation that makes use of the building's extensive roof space to generate renewable electricity on-site.

Our aerial footage offers a fantastic perspective of the project, showing how different roof sections can be utilised as part of a carefully planned solar installation.

For healthcare and residential care facilities, solar PV offers an opportunity to reduce reliance on purchased electricity during daylight hours and support longer-term energy planning.

We're delighted to showcase another EnergyServ commercial project.

SAME PANELS. DIFFERENT SEASONS.
Does solar still work during an Irish winter?
Yes, when sufficient daylight is available.
Solar panels generate electricity from daylight, not heat. However, the amount of electricity they produce changes throughout the year.

SUMMER: Longer days, higher sun angles and generally stronger sunlight mean greater electricity generation.
WINTER: Panels can continue generating electricity when there is sufficient daylight, including on some cloudy days. However, shorter days, lower sun angles and reduced sunlight generally result in lower output than in summer.

That's why a well-designed solar PV system is assessed on its expected performance across the full year, not just during the sunniest months.
At EnergyServ, we consider your property's roof orientation, shading, energy consumption and system requirements to design a suitable solution.

PARKING SPACE. ENERGY POTENTIAL.
Your car park could be more than just a place to park.
Solar carports offer businesses, clubs and organisations an opportunity to make better use of suitable outdoor spaces.

By combining solar PV panels with purpose-built parking structures, they can provide:
- Renewable electricity generation
- Sheltered parking
- EV charging facilities
And they can be particularly valuable where traditional rooftop solar isn't the most suitable option.

At EnergyServ, we're helping businesses and organisations explore renewable energy solutions that work with their properties.
ONE SPACE. MULTIPLE POSSIBILITIES.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR SOLAR BATTERY IS FULL?
It's a question we're often asked about solar PV and battery storage.
Imagine it's a bright afternoon. Your solar panels are generating electricity, your home battery has reached 100%, and you're not using all the electricity being produced.

What happens next?
- Your solar panels can continue generating electricity.
- Your home uses the electricity it needs.
- Depending on your system configuration and grid connection, surplus electricity may be exported to the grid.

If electricity cannot be used, stored or exported, your system can automatically reduce generation.

This is why the correct system design, battery capacity and inverter configuration are important.

At EnergyServ, we believe understanding how your system works is just as important as having it installed.

IS YOUR BUSINESS ROOF WORKING AS HARD AS IT COULD?
Your commercial property may have more potential than you realise.
A suitable roof can provide valuable space for solar PV, allowing your business to generate electricity on-site and potentially reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the grid.

At EnergyServ, we work with businesses and organisations across Ireland to assess their properties and design solar solutions suited to their energy requirements.

From car dealerships and hospitality businesses to large commercial buildings, every project begins with understanding the property and how electricity is used.

YOUR ROOF IS MORE THAN JUST A ROOF.

It could be part of your business's long-term energy strategy.

BEHIND EVERY SOLAR SYSTEM IS A TEAM OF PEOPLE.
When you see solar panels installed on a home, business or large commercial property, you're seeing the result of a lot of work behind the scenes.

At EnergyServ, our roofers, electricians and installation teams bring their individual skills together to make each project happen.

From preparing the site and fitting the panels to completing the electrical work, every stage matters.

This Sunday, we're sharing a little of what goes on behind the scenes and recognising the people who do the work every day.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE POWER.
