SEAI Window & Door Grant - Important Update

We have received a further update regarding the upcoming SEAI Window & Door Grant, and we want to keep our customers fully informed with the latest information available.

🔎 What we know so far

If you’re planning to apply for the grant, here are the key requirements based on current guidance:

• Homeowners will need to access their BER details through the SEAI National BER Register:
https://ndber.seai.ie/pass/ber/search.aspx

• A BER certificate will be required both before and after the window/door upgrade.

• Your home must have adequate attic and wall insulation in place before applying for the window and door grant.

• If insulation is not at the required level, this may need to be upgraded first.

• You can check this in your BER advisory report.

• As part of our service, we expect to provide a BER consultant to our customers to carry out the necessary certification and guide you through the process.

SEAI Window & Door Grant - Update for Our Customers

The new SEAI Window & Door Grant is due to open for applications on 3rd March, and we know many of you are eager to find out how it will work.

At the moment, the full details and application process for contractors and suppliers have not yet been released by SEAI, so we don’t have all the answers just yet. We expect more clarity within the next couple of weeks and will update everyone as soon as official information becomes available.

We have also written directly to the minister requesting further guidance and are currently awaiting a response.

What we know so far

• Applications are expected to open 3rd March and will be made through SEAI.
• Your window contractor must be SEAI-registered - we will be certified and ready!
• Minimum window U-value requirement is 1.4, with 1.2 recommended for better energy efficiency.
• High-performance double glazing meets requirements, while triple glazing offers the best U-values.

Grant values expected:

• Up to €4,000 for windows
• €800 per external door (maximum of 2 doors)
• Only one grant claim per home

• Works must be completed after approval - if your windows are already installed, they will not qualify.
• Homes must be built in 2011 or earlier.
• You will need to meet a Heat Loss Indicator target of 2.3 kW/K for your home.
• This grant will NOT increase the price of our windows or doors.

Important note

There are currently no confirmed parameters or full guidelines available yet for customers or contractors. As soon as SEAI releases the official details, we will share clear guidance on:

• How homeowners apply
• How suppliers are approved
• What documentation is required

We recently completed a project for the Western Hotel in Galway where we supplied and installed a series of bespoke steel loft style glass doors.

The installation included a full glass double door, a full glass single door and a reeded glass single door that brings both texture and privacy while maintaining the modern loft aesthetic.

Each door was custom fabricated to achieve clean lines, balanced proportions and a high quality finish that complements the interior of the hotel.

A strong, stylish and durable solution that enhances the space through thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship.

Blending classic detail with modern craftsmanship, this bespoke cut-string staircase features solid oak treads and handrails paired with crisp white stringers for a clean, timeless look. We designed and manufactured the full staircase and supplied all second-fix joinery, ensuring every detail, right down to the final finish, works seamlessly together.

Crafted for durability and designed to match the original aesthetic, this replacement mahogany PVC double glass French door was installed to solve a long-standing issue. The previous door had begun to fail, with hinges pulling away from the frame and compromising both safety and functionality.

We supplied and fitted a like-for-like replacement, ensuring the style and finish remained consistent with the home while significantly improving strength and reliability. A new cemented threshold was also installed to replace the old uneven base, eliminating a tripping hazard and providing a clean, secure foundation for the door.

A simple upgrade, but one that brings improved safety, performance, and peace of mind.
