âś… CIF Safety Campaign 2026 Complete

We were delighted to conclude our CIF Safety Campaign 2026 with an engaging Virtual Reality (VR) Machinery Safety Demonstration in Waterford. The immersive training highlighted the real-life consequences of unsafe behaviours around plant and machinery, reinforcing the importance of hazard awareness and safe systems of work.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated throughout the campaign. Over the past two weeks, we focused on key safety themes including:

As part of the CIF Safety Campaign 2026, our teams took part in a Toolbox Talk focused on Frontline Workers and the everyday actions that help keep everyone safe on site.

Frontline workers are at the heart of our projects. Staying alert to familiar risks, following the controls in place, communicating clearly and speaking up when something doesn’t look right can make all the difference.

At the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) Awards 2026, we were honoured to receive both a Higher Distinction Award and the prestigious Excellence in Safety Award (this is awarded to companies that have achieved a Distinction-level award or higher for 15 years).

Weltec Engineering is excited to announce the winners of its inaugural Bursary Awards for college students👩‍🎓

The bursary programme was open to students of Quantity Surveying, Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering at third-level institutions in Ireland. The successful candidates were chosen following a thorough selection process by Weltec’s senior management with each recipient receiving a bursary to cover the academic year 2026/27, as well as paid professional placements and professional mentorship from Weltec’s highly experienced senior staff.

This years winners were Genevieve Sherlock, a fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student in South East Technological University Carlow and Ciaran Murray, a fourth-year Quantity Surveying student in South East Technological University Waterford. Weltec’s Engineering Manager, Padraig O’Mahony, sees the Bursary Programme as a key role in developing and supporting young talent within the Engineering and Construction Industry.

Celebrating 10 Years with Weltec Engineering
Congratulations to Joe Reville and Gavin Murphy 🥳

We were delighted to make two well-earned presentations this week, recognising two careers that began at Weltec in 2016.

Joe Reville, Mechanical Supervisor, joined us as a plumber and has worked his way up to Mechanical Supervisor. He consistently delivers, with exemplary attention to detail and the highest standards of quality and EHS. Always willing to go over and above, Joe has completed numerous shutdowns across Bausch + Lomb Ireland, Eirgen Pharma, Tirlán, Sanofi, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Haleon and Amgen.

Gavin Murphy, Project Manager, joined as a graduate engineer, starting in site co-ordination before growing into all aspects of the project engineering function. He was promoted to Project Manager on the strength of his excellent work; he has built invaluable experience across Medical Devices, Pharma and Food & Beverage (most recently delivering a complex Food & Beverage project for a new client) on sites including Bausch + Lomb Ireland, Eirgen Pharma, Sanofi, West Pharma and Amgen.

Both have built excellent relationships across the wider Weltec team and with our clients over the years. Congratulations to you both.
