Suir Engineering is delighted to have commenced groundworks on the Poolbeg 220kV GIS project in collaboration with ESB Networks at one of Dublin’s most recognisable landmark sites.

Known to many across the city for the famous Poolbeg Towers, the site has long been part of Dublin’s landscape, making this a significant project for our team to be involved in.

The Poolbeg project forms part of the Irish Government’s PR6 investment programme in Ireland’s electricity network, the largest investment in the network to date.

As one of more than 500 capital projects being delivered nationwide, it will play an important role in supporting growing electricity demand while helping to create a more resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure for the future.

As works now get underway on site, Suir Engineering will deliver full EPC including Design, Construction and Commissioning of 220kV GIS Building.​

We’re proud to announce that Ellie Walshe, Head of Sustainability at Suir Engineering has been appointed Vice Chair of the Medtech & Engineering Sustainability Forum 👏🌍

Ellie marked her first event in the role by presenting at today's Forum in Galway, where industry leaders came together to discuss how organisations can move sustainability from strategy into meaningful action.

Her presentation focused on Driving Sustainability Performance Through Supplier-Aligned Targets, with key discussions covering:

We’re proud to announce that our net-zero targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), independent confirmation that our pathway to 𝗻𝗲𝘁-𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟱𝟬 is aligned with the latest climate science and the global goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C.

Our clients are decarbonising, and they need delivery partners whose climate commitments are credible, measurable and verified to the same standard they hold themselves to.

𝗖𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 - 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 ✅
The Clonfad Solar Farm project represents a major step forward in Ireland’s continued journey towards achieving net-zero emissions and expanding the country’s renewable energy infrastructure. From early development through to construction, it’s been a fantastic team effort, and we’re proud to see it now fully operational. 300,000 solar panels have now successfully been installed, with all cabling completed to connect and bring power to the panels by Suir Engineering.

𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸
🔹Successfully delivered 33 kV collector circuit installation
🔹Completed AC LV cabling from inverters to STSs
🔹Installed STSs, inverters, and associated cabling infrastructure
🔹Achieved full solar farm testing & commissioning
🔹Delivered PSCS responsibilities across the project scope
🔹Installed & terminated FO cable network infrastructure
🔹Installed, terminated & tested solar panel DC cables
🔹Completed CCTV & communication systems installation
🔹Delivered full solar farm fencing works
🔹Installed and commissioned auxiliary power systems
🔹Completed installation of weather stations systems

Darkness into Light continues to play a powerful role in strengthening team bonds and shaping workplace culture in a meaningful way.

By bringing people together outside of their usual day-to-day circles, it creates space for colleagues who might not normally interact or connect.

This early morning gathering has become a highlight of the year for our team in Frankfurt. There is something unique about showing up together before the start of the day, walking side by side in conversation, and being part of something that extends beyond work.
