Designing balconies that do more than just meet the standard.
We’re delighted to be delivering another project in Cherrywood for a valued repeat client, a collaboration that continues to push design boundaries and add real value for end users.
For this scheme, one balcony type challenged the conventional approach and gave us the opportunity to innovate:

Partially recessed balcony design
By integrating a recessed section into the façade, we extended usable outdoor space beyond the typical 1.8m depth. Achieving up to 2.5m depth and 4.3m length.
Enhanced usability & comfort
Internal glazing positioned behind the vertical bar balustrade acts as a wind barrier, improving comfort without compromising the external aesthetic.
Privacy by design
A raised balustrade section to one side provides increased privacy while also contributing to the architectural expression of the elevation.
Fully integrated delivery
From design through to offsite manufacture, assembly, delivery and installation, our team ensured a seamless process and high-quality finish throughout.
This is a great example of how early collaboration and offsite thinking can unlock smarter, more liveable spaces for residents.

Project Commencement | Offsite Manufactured Balconies – WaterRock, Midleton, Co. Cork
We’re delighted to be on site at WaterRock, Midleton, a Clancy Homes development comprising 16 ICF constructed blocks/buildings, marking the commencement of Arc Engineering’s scope of works on this project.
Our role includes the design, supply and installation of 90 no. propped / supported offsite-manufactured balconies, delivered in line with the architect’s concept design and tailored to suit the ICF construction methodology.
Scope highlights include:
▪️ Hot dip galvanised balcony platforms
▪️ Fire-rated, non-slip Perch aluminium powder-coated decking, free-draining to the front
▪️ PPC aluminium soffit panels
▪️ Powder-coated vertical bar metal balustrades, fixed back to the platform with Stainless Steel fixings
▪️ Full offsite assembly in our workshop
▪️ Delivery to site fully finished and craned into position
▪️ Provision of stubs, cast-in anchors and setting-out templates (designed in conjunction with the Project Engineer)
Offsite manufacturing allows us to deliver consistent quality, improved safety, reduced site programme and minimal disruption, particularly on multi-block residential developments like this.
Looking forward to progressing this project with Clancy Homes and the wider project team.

✨ 25 Years of Arc Engineering ✨

Last weekend, we marked a very special milestone, 25 years in business. But this celebration wasn’t about speeches or suits. It was about people.

We gathered at the same rural location we’ve proudly called home since 2000 – and celebrated the only way that felt right: with family, friends, past and present colleagues, suppliers, neighbours, and everyone who’s been part of our journey.

A big thank you to The Country Bistro for a superb three-course meal, Foley’s Bar, Newbawn for keeping glasses full all night and All In One Event Hire for the fabulous marquee. The kids (and some grown-up kids too!) had a blast with games, bubbles and a bouncy castle. The sweet table was definety the highlight for them😁. Music from our own talented staff and family set the tone, before a DJ kept the party going into the small hours – it was truly a night to remember.

Most of all, the evening reminded us that Arc Engineering has always been about community. We’re grateful to every person who has helped us reach this milestone, and we look forward to the next chapter together.
