More than just a team. 🧡

Back in February 2018, John and the lads took on The Rock of Hell, a local fundraiser inspired by the Hell & Back challenge.

It was a day full of mud, obstacles, plenty of laughs and probably a few aches and pains the next day! 😂

John always had a great relationship with the lads and saw them as part of the JBCC family. Days like this were a chance to put the work aside, have a bit of fun and enjoy each other’s company. We also remember those no longer with us.

Looking back at these photos, it’s the laughs and the memories that stand out.

While the schools are out, the wall saw, core drill and Brokk are in action. 💥

Our team recently completed reinforced concrete wall removal in a school in Bray using precision wall sawing, diamond coring and our Brokk demolition robot.

Working safely, quickly and efficiently during the summer holidays means minimal disruption and the project is ready for its next phase before students return.

The job never stopped when the tools were put away.

In April 2025, John and Stuart travelled to bauma in Munich, Germany—the world’s largest construction and machinery exhibition.

For John, there was always something new to learn. From the latest concrete cutting and demolition technology to catching up with people across the industry, bauma was an opportunity to see what the future held and bring fresh ideas home to JBCC.

A sincere thank you to Brian Brady and the team at AccurA Diamond Tools Ltd for arranging the entry tickets and making the visit possible.

As we celebrate 30 years of JBCC, we’re remembering not only the projects we completed, but also the experiences that helped shape the business along the way.

Last weekend, Tom, one of JBCC’s very first employees and one of John’s closest friends, brought us back to Woodenbridge, Co. Wicklow to share a memory from the early days of the business.

After a job unexpectedly fell through, John and Tom decided to make the most of the day. They bought two fishing rods and spent the afternoon catching and releasing rainbow trout before heading home.

Standing by the same river all these years later was a reminder that JBCC wasn’t just built on hard work, it was built on friendship, laughter and memories like these.

Recognise this stadium? 👀

Back in 2008, John and Tom were part of the team carrying out specialist concrete cutting works on the Lansdowne Road Underpass during the redevelopment of what would become the Aviva Stadium.

It was one of JBCC’s biggest and most memorable projects, and one we’re incredibly proud to have played a part in.

Years after the work was complete, John returned many times—not as a contractor, but as a fan, enjoying unforgettable matches with family and friends in a stadium he had helped bring to life.

As we celebrate 30 years of JBCC, we’re looking back at the projects, the people and the memories that have shaped our journey. This one will always hold a special place in our story.

Not every job starts with a helicopter ride… 🚁

Back in September 2018, John and Barry spent six days on Fastnet Lighthouse, one of Ireland’s most iconic and remote landmarks🌊

Accessible only by helicopter, they travelled to the lighthouse to carry out specialist drilling works, completing 36 holes through the cast iron top and granite wall, each drilled to a depth of 800mm.

Living and working on a tiny rock off the coast of Cork isn’t your average working week, but it’s projects like these that reflect the dedication, skill and determination that have defined JBCC for the past 30 years.

As we continue celebrating our 30th anniversary, we’re looking back on the people, places and projects that have shaped our journey—and this is certainly one we’ll never forget.

30 Years of JBCC

This year marks an incredible milestone for our family business as we celebrate 30 years of JBCC.

Thirty years ago, John Byrne founded JBCC with a simple vision—to work hard, do every job to the highest standard, and build lasting relationships along the way. Thanks to the dedication of our team, the loyalty of our clients, and the support of our community, that vision grew into the business we are proud to be today.

While this milestone is one to celebrate, it is also one of reflection. We sadly lost John earlier this year, but his values, passion and commitment continue to shape everything we do. This celebration is as much about honouring his legacy as it is about celebrating the journey of JBCC.

Although John is no longer with us, JBCC will continue to move forward with the same dedication, quality and integrity that he built the business on. We are proud to carry his vision into the future, ensuring his legacy lives on through every project we undertake and every relationship we build.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing photographs, videos, memories, milestones and stories from the past 30 years. From our earliest days to some of our biggest projects, we’ll be looking back at the moments and the people who have helped shape JBCC.

To everyone who has worked with us, worked for us, supported us or been part of our journey over the last three decades—thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you.
