As the summer break is coming to an end, the Department of Physics opened its gates to the next generation of curious minds for a day full of science, hands-on experiments, and fun!
Featuring scientific experiments that the kids got to try out themselves.
Wave demonstrations, outdoor fun, tasting physics and ice cream made on the spot using liquid nitrogen! 🍦
It was a full day of questions, discoveries, and amazing experiences! Curiosity always starts with one small question 😀

When evolution has several equally advantageous paths to choose from, the choice may not be random.

A new Technion study reveals that populations tend to drift toward “flatter” regions of the evolutionary landscape, where organisms are more robust to mutations and other disruptions. The research was led by Razi Fachar Eldeen of the Faculty of Mathematics and Prof. Naama Brenner of the Wolfson Faculty of Chemical Engineering, both members of the Technion’s Network Biology Research Laboratory.

Published in PNAS, the study may deepen our understanding of how resilience emerges in living systems.

The research was supported in part by the U.S.-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF).

From the Technion to a $17 billion company

At just 17, Alex Bouaziz left France and moved to Israel on his own to study engineering at the Technion.

Why the Technion? As he tells ynet Global: “The best school in my opinion was the Technion.”

That decision became a key milestone in an extraordinary journey. After graduating from the Technion, Bouaziz continued to MIT and eventually co-founded Deel, the global HR and payroll platform that today serves more than 40,000 customers in 150 countries and is valued at around $17 billion.

Another inspiring example of how a Technion education can become the starting point for global entrepreneurship and impact.
