We are looking for a bioinformatician to join its R&D team. GeneSort is an innovative and dynamic NGS based diagnostic company, focusing on cancer – therapy matching, risk assessment and early detection.

We are looking for a highly motivated team member to expand our in-house clinical analytics and bioinformatics capabilities and solutions.

Place of work: Herzliya Pituach, Israel

Responsibilities include:

•Development and optimization of data analysis tools for based NGS based data.

•Collaboration with the R&D team in analyzing and interpreting the results of NGS based data and developing new methods for data processing.

•Generating NGS-based methods that are transferable to clinical settings.

Requirements:

-M.Sc or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics / Molecular genetics / Computer Science or any related field.

-Proficient in a major scripting language (Perl, Java, R or Python).

-Experience in bioinformatic analyses of molecular NGS data, such as Variant Calling, RNA-seq (scRNA seq), ChIP-seq or Hi-C data sequencing. (Including "hand on" lab experience - preferred).

-Understanding of human genetics, particular classes of genetic variation and their intersections with cutting-edge molecular technologies.

-Familiarity with current NGS platforms (e.g. Illumina, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore).

-Knowledge and experience in Bioinformatics, Genomics, big data analysis, algorithm development, deep-learning and other machine learning algorithms.

-Working knowledge of databases (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB or similar).

-Experience with Git, SVN or other version control software – preferred

-Experience with process automation, software testing, and validation– preferred

-Willingness to take on responsibilities and work independently where necessary.

-Ability to communicate and present analyses in a clear and concise manner.

-Team player with good management skills.
