Senior Researcher position
The researcher will be based at the companyโs headquarters in Jerusalem and will develop and lead the media development project and team. The goal of the position is to help in creating food grade media formulations for animal cell cultures from defined ingredients to use in manufacturing, taking
into account process and product requirements. The researcher will have a key role at the company and will work cross-functionally in research and development, with bioprocess engineers, QA,
operations, and other functional areas as necessary.
Responsibilities:
โ Assist in the design and ex*****on of experiments using sound scientific principles to optimize cell culture media formulations.
โ Develop working knowledge of cell culture raw materials to participate in formulation development and troubleshooting.
โ Influence and assist in the management of efficient experimental designs in order to evaluate and scale-up formulations.
โ Perform statistical analysis on characterization/validation data and prepare and present summary reports.
โ Timely and thorough documentation and completion of laboratory notebooks.
โ Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety and company policies.
โ Independent preparation of reagents and cell cultures for formulation testing experiments.
โ Participate in drafting of experimental documentation and new SOPs.
Qualifications:
โ PhD in Biological Sciences (i.e. biology, chemistry, bioengineering or biochemistry), working
experience in relevant areas is a big advantage.
โ Open mind and a motivation to learn and explore.
โ Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the use of GC-MS.
โ Experience in preparation of raw materials for cell culture media and chemicals and proper handling.
โ Strong skills in animal cell culture maintenance and aseptic techniques, prefered.
โ Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects and communicate efficiently.
โ Prior experience with cell line maintenance, general molecular biology work, and generation of culture media stock solutions and complete formulations.
โ Strong scientific and organization skills; ability to perform standard laboratory math calculations for determining cell doubling time, cell concentration, seeding density and concentration, and molarity for making laboratory solutions and media.
โ Strong scientific and technical writing and presentations.
