The U.S. Treasury has sanctioned Turkey-based Golden Global Bank, accusing it of facilitating tens of millions of dollars in transactions linked to Iran’s IRGC-Quds Force.

🇹🇷🇮🇷 According to Treasury, the bank was used in a network moving Iranian oil revenues through Turkey, with funds connected to Iranian front companies and converted into cash and gold.

How does this happen inside a NATO ally of the United States?

To be clear: Treasury’s action targets the bank and its network—it does NOT establish that the Turkish government created the bank to fund Iran.

Still, the allegations raise serious questions about Iran’s financial networks and Turkey’s role as a financial transit point.🤷‍♂️

🇺🇦 At Least 37 Killed in Russian Strike Near Kyiv

At least 37 people have been killed and 42 injured after a Russian drone struck a facility in the village of Myla, near Kyiv, on August 28. The strike triggered a major fire followed by a series of powerful detonations, causing extensive damage to the surrounding area.

More than 50 residential buildings were damaged, and a care facility for elderly people and people with disabilities was also affected. More than 370 people were evacuated as emergency crews continued rescue and recovery operations.

Among those killed was Taras Didych, head of the Dmytrivka community, who was reportedly helping with the rescue effort when he lost his life.

Ukrainian authorities have also opened a criminal investigation into the storage of ammunition and other explosive materials near residential areas, raising serious questions about negligence and safety procedures. That investigation is separate from the Russian strike itself.

The attack came amid a broader, sustained Russian aerial campaign against Ukraine, including increasingly frequent attacks involving drones and missiles. Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions have faced repeated strikes over several consecutive days.

This is another devastating reminder of the human cost of this war.

🇺🇦 Ukraine needs stronger air defenses, continued international support, and sustained diplomatic and economic pressure on Russia.

My thoughts are with the victims, their families, the injured, and the emergency workers who continue working under extremely dangerous conditions.
