The AI-in-drive-thru conversation has always been framed as a labor story: machines vs. workers.
We see it differently.
Taking orders through a headset all shift is one of the most repetitive, exhausting parts of working a drive-thru - constant noise, constant interruptions, constant context switching. When our AI Order Taker takes that off employees' plates, something we didn't fully expect happened: people started staying longer. Operators using Hi Auto have seen turnover drop by 17–25%.
Turns out, when you remove the most stressful part of a job, people actually enjoy the work more. As our CEO Roy Baharav puts it: "Nobody gets into this business because they love wearing a headset for eight hours. When you take that away, people tend to enjoy the work more, and restaurants are seeing that show up in retention."
We're not building AI to replace restaurant teams. We're building it so the people who show up every day want to keep showing up.
