www.efrat-kowalsky.co.il We have strong interest in projects with historical significance, cultural value and social importance.

Work developed by Efrat-Kowalsky Architects (EKA) stands out in the national and international scene for proposing an original synthesis of research and detailed design. We specialize in analyzing existing situations, defining new programs, devising strategic planning and proposing creative re-use. EKA was established in 1995. Its body of work includes over 50 built private and public projects. In

2002 EKA was chosen to design and curate the Israeli Pavilion to the Venice Biennale. In 2002 EKA won a competition for additions to the Holocaust Museum in Kibbutz Lohmei Hagetaot. In 2003 EKA was commissioned to prepare the Master Plan for the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and to head the renewal and expansion of the entire museum. In 2006 EKA won a competition to design the Tel Aviv City Museum. In this chapter of our practice, we wish to implement some of the conclusions of the extensive research The Israeli Project: Building And Architecture 1948-1973 and to focus on re-thinking and executing acute issues of affordable housing, urban renewal, public facilities and adaptive re-use of existing structures.
