Blower rotation is not just a drawing detail. It directly affects duct routing, equipment layout, drive access, installation, and future maintenance.

Before manufacturing a centrifugal blower, the rotation and discharge position must be confirmed from the drive side of the fan.

Depending on the plant layout, the blower can be configured in clockwise or counterclockwise rotation, with multiple discharge orientations such as:

• Up discharge
• Top horizontal
• Top angular up or down
• Down discharge
• Bottom horizontal
• Bottom angular up or down

The correct orientation helps align the blower with existing ductwork, reduces unnecessary bends, simplifies installation, and improves access for inspection and servicing.

This guide also highlights three commonly used blower arrangements:

ARR-8, Direct Coupled Drive Fan
Suitable for larger fan sizes and higher-power applications where a flexible coupling connects the motor and blower shaft.

That is why dryer selection should not be based only on capacity.

For example :

Before drying:
10 TPD wet sludge
→ ₹1,00,000/day disposal cost

After drying:
2 TPD dry sludge
→ ₹20,000/day disposal cost

That means a potential ₹80,000/day saving on disposal alone, before considering reuse possibilities such as fuel, cement, bricks or fertilizer depending on sludge characteristics.

You need to be clear on:

- Airflow (CMH) and static pressure (mmWC) your process actually demands
- Whether the air stream is clean, dust-laden, or corrosive
- Which arrangement (ARR-1A, ARR-4, ARR-8) fits your plant layout
- Belt drive vs direct drive based on your RPM range
- Rotation direction (CW or CCW) based on your discharge position
