Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an awareness cm
celebration program on "World Bio-fuel Day". An informative session
through PPT presentation is delivered by Assistant Professor Mr Rohit
Kumar(M. Tech. IIT, Dhanbad in Environmental Science & Engineering ).
The main focus was to aware young engineers about the importance of
alternative fuels in future. A quiz is held at the end of session to
assess the participants perception about bio-fuels.

Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on
"Innovative Problem Solving Techniques in Design" to be delivered by Mr.
M. K. Soni (Design Consultant), M. Des.(IISc, Bangalore). He is a senior
technocrat in the field of design having a vast industrial experience in
companies of repute like JAQUAR LIMITD (Lighting Division). He also
conducted guest lectures & training sessions in various technical
institutes & universities including IITs. The session was very
interactive. Students of Mechanical Engineering learn the latest trends
in the field of product design through this session. Mr. Soni explained
the design procedure with realistic design problems.

Student chapter of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING (IIIE) is started with participation of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Students. Mr. P.K. Jain, Mr. R. S. Mehta & C. P. Jain arrived from Udaipur chapter for this event. Mr. P. K. Jain explained the benefits of student membership of IIIE through concrete examples. Students may benefit through industrial visits, experts discussions, guest lectures, seminar etc. He also mentioned that second year students may enroll for dual degree benefits subject to minimum strength available. Mr. R. S. Mehta & C. P. Jain motivated students to improve their skills as per the demand of industry. This association will provide more exposure to enrolled students about the latest developments in industry. Also due to interaction with industry experts students’ acceptability & understanding about industrial operations will enhance a lot.
