On World Environment Day 2026, our Department of Agricultural Engineering, in association with the Institute’s SDG Cell, organized a Native Variety Tree Plantation Drive at our Satara Parisar Campus, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The activity was graced by the esteemed presence of Directors, Dr. Nilesh Patil and Dr. Bhalchandra Waykar, who inspired the gathering with their commitment towards environmental sustainability and ecological conservation.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Institute SDG Cell, Dr. Narayan Gatkal (Department SDG Coordinator), Dr. Deepak Bornare (Head, Department of Agricultural Engineering), faculty members, students, staff and the MIT Agricultural Research & Demonstration Centre (ARDC) Team. Together, they contributed to this meaningful effort of promoting biodiversity and strengthening the institute’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.

Planting native tree species is not merely an environmental activity; it is an investment in ecological resilience, groundwater conservation, carbon sequestration, and the well-being of future generations.

🌿 Every tree planted today is a promise for a healthier tomorrow.

Pedals up, stress down. 🚲✨ Trading the traffic chaos for a whole different kind of vibe. Let’s ride!

Let us keep writing and requesting the municipal/ development authorities to build cycling tracks all around.

MIT CSN thanks those students and staff members who uses bicycle to commute to MIT.

Yesterday, Padma Shri awardee, Shri Shrirang Devaba Lad (Dada Lad) visited our Satara Parisar Campus. It was an honour for us to receive him.

He is a grassroots agricultural innovator and progressive farmer from the Marathwada region. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in January 2026 for his exceptional and transformative contributions to agriculture, specifically in the field of sustainable cotton production.

His primary claim to fame is a revolutionary package of cotton cultivation practices that he began developing around 2002–2003. This method—widely known as the Dada Lad Technique—was created to address low yields, rising input costs, and crop failures in the drought-prone regions of Marathwada.

Farmers adopting the Dada Lad Technique have recorded nearly a three-fold increase in their per-acre cotton yield, significantly cutting production costs and boosting profit margins by up to 40%.

We thank him for his visit and look forward to welcoming him again on Campus!
