We are extremely pleased to share that Mati Carbon Pvt. Ltd., incubated at Atal Incubation Centre – Jyothy Institute of Technology Foundation (AIC JITF) Bengaluru, has won the coveted grand prize of US $50 Million (approx. ₹400 Crores) for their pioneering Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) solution – a scalable, science-backed approach that removes atmospheric by applying finely crushed basalt to croplands, while boosting and farmer incomes.

This transformative method accelerates natural basalt weathering: CO₂ dissolves in rainwater, reacts with silicate minerals, and locks into stable bicarbonates—permanently sequestering carbon for ~10,000 years
What truly impressed the XPRIZE judges was Mati’s robust MRV system—supported by Yale and IIT-Kanpur—to credibly validate CO₂ removal at scale, alongside a digital platform that empowers over 30,000 farmers.

Dear Innovators!

AIC Jyothy announces the call for applications for the DST NIDHI- PRAYAS program.

This prestigious initiative, funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, aims to provide grant-in-aid funding of up to ₹10 lakhs to support innovators and startups in their journey from ideation to prototype development.

Deadline: 12th March 2025.
