Hi, You know why iron is an allotropic metal. It's because it can exists in more than one farm at room temp. Means it exists in BCC structure and also in FCC structure at room temp. For eg, Mild steel exists in BCC and Hadfield steel exists in FCC at room temp. Their properties are different. MS is magnetic and has low UTS. Where as Manganese steel in non magnetic and has high UTS. Welding procedure is also different for these materials.
