Environment and Climate Change Department, Government of Maharashtra, has launched “Maha‑rPET Abhiyaan” in partnership with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, marking an important step towards strengthening PET collection systems across the state, by focusing not just on collection, but on the quality of material entering the recycling stream.

At HCCB, our role is focused on supporting these systems on the ground, working alongside stakeholders to enable better segregation practices, improve awareness, and strengthen the journey of used PET bottles from disposal to recycling.

Together, these efforts contribute to building scalable, organised, and used PET recovery systems, supporting Maharashtra’s broader vision of responsible waste management and resource efficiency.
