Honorable MLA Uri Dr. Sajad Shafi Reviews Facilities at ITI Uri, Encourages Students to Focus on Skill Development
Uri, 09 Oct 2025 : Honorable MLA Uri, Dr. Sajad Shafi, visited Government Industrial Training Institute Uri, where he reviewed the functioning of various trades and interacted with students and staff.
During the visit, Honorable MLA Uri inspected different Trades, including COPA, Electrician, Stenography, Plumber, MMV, Welder, and Sewing Technology. He interacted with trainees from each trade and appreciated their dedication towards learning practical skills.
While addressing with the students, Honorable MLA Dr. Sajad Shafi emphasized the importance of skill development in today’s competitive job market, noting that technical education plays a crucial role in empowering youth with employment opportunities.
In the present era, skill-based education is the foundation for self-reliance and growth. Whatever help or support you need from my side, you can always reach out, he assured the students.
The visit also included a review meeting with institute officials to assess infrastructure, training quality, and student facilities.
Principal ITI Lagama, Er. Javaid Ahmad Ganie, and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Uri, Gh. Mohiuddin Lone, were also present during the visit.
Honorable MLA Uri Dr. Sajjad Shafi expressed satisfaction over the functioning of the institute and reiterated his commitment to strengthening vocational education in Uri to create more avenues for local youth.
