When handling combustible materials, static control is a critical part of FIBC selection.
Type A FIBCs provide no static protection and are intended for suitable non-flammable applications. Type B offers limited static control and is used for specific combustible powder applications. Type C incorporates conductive threads and requires proper grounding during operation. Type D uses static-dissipative materials to control electrostatic discharge without a grounding connection, subject to correct application and contamination controls.
The correct FIBC type depends on the material, surrounding atmosphere, handling process, and electrostatic risk assessment.
