This is the story of K. Renee Horton, a NASA engineer who is also the first African-American to earn a PhD in materials science from the University of Alabama. Horton suffers from severe hearing loss, she is a former college dropout, she’s the mother of three, yet none of this has stopped her from becoming a leading women in the world of STEM.
