It has been working for last six decades in a remote area of Thar Desert, a historic beautiful city and a western border district of Rajasthan, a land of colorful culture & pride. Babu Raghuwar Dayal Goel, an eminent freedom fighter & advocate, gave a rise to the new era with his Gandhian thoughts and thus paving a path of self-dependence through a small Khadi shop in the year 1942. gle during adverse conditions gave the fruitful results and thus was establishment of this institution which got registered under the "Societies Registration Act of 1860" in the year of 1955. The western Rajasthan, part of Thar Desert is prone to regular famine. Every year there is draught in one or another part of the area which provide harsh living condition for human & livestock. Very little remedial work has been done to meet out the situation. At this stage Khadi Mandir including Khadi sector with the help of Govt. of India & Govt. of Rajasthan providing sustainable livelihood through giving spinning, weaving, embroidery, handicraft work in the remote villages. The beneficiaries are getting remuneration at their doorsteps in respectful manner. So the poor people, who are suffering harsh natural calamities, need not to go out side for their livelihood. Khadi Mandir, has worked on world bank project through state government of Rajasthan in Churu district covering 2 blocks Sardarshahar (31 villages) & Ratangarh (36 villages). The objective of this project is eradication of poverty through implementing micro enterprises activities and supporting the beneficiary (CIG/SHG) providing backward & forward linkages. Similar work has been done in Bikaner district covering 2 blocks under NABARD, SGSY, REGP (EDP training) and REDP (Training) programs for socio-economic development. Khadi Mandir is having 1500 spinners, 50 weavers & 1000 workers in other V.I. & handicraft activities. We have a total production of Rs. 1.25 Crore including Khadi (0.65 Crore) & V.I. (0.60 Crore) and total sale of Rs. 1.85 crore including Khadi (1.00 Crore) & V.I. (0.85 Crore) annualy. We have a vast experience of social development work including education, training, orientations, production & marketing support & other social services like, rural health, environment sanitation etc.
