Bringing history back to life.

This restoration project involves a 200-year-old heritage house in Umm Al Quwain, UAE, a structure that reflects the region’s traditional architectural character and cultural heritage. The work focuses on carefully reviving the building while respecting its original design, materials, and construction techniques.

Through a sensitive restoration approach, the aim is to preserve the authenticity of the structure, strengthen its longevity, and ensure that the architectural legacy it represents continues to be appreciated by future generations.

Rediscovering Tradition with Earth 🌿

A home inspired by traditional Kerala architecture, built using natural and sustainable materials.
This project combines mud blocks, rammed earth walls, mud plaster, and Athangudi tiles to create a space that is breathable, climate-responsive, and rooted in local heritage.

At Earthen Habitats, we believe that the wisdom of traditional construction can shape the future of sustainable living.

Designed in response to Chennai’s warm–humid climate, this eco-friendly project places occupant comfort at the core of every decision. The architecture follows a form-follows-function approach, where spatial planning, orientation, and material choices work together to enhance everyday living.

By integrating passive design strategies—optimized ventilation, controlled daylight, thermal comfort, and climate-responsive massing—the design minimizes dependence on mechanical systems while creating naturally comfortable interiors.

This project reflects our commitment to context-driven, sustainable architecture, where buildings respond intelligently to climate, function efficiently, and age gracefully with time.

Sustainable Nature-Integrated Residence | Vadakara, Kerala

Tucked beside a serene natural pond, this 1,255 sq.ft. home blends seamlessly with its surroundings—celebrating climate-responsive design, vernacular wisdom, and sustainability.

With shaded verandas, porotherm-insulated walls, reclaimed Mangalore tile roofing, and natural finishes, the house stays cool, well-lit, and low-impact year-round—ideal for Kerala’s hot, humid climate.

Designed for a retired couple, this split-level home includes an attic, spacious verandas, cross-ventilated interiors, and intimate pond views—making it both a peaceful residence and a vibrant family retreat.

From terrain-sensitive planning to passive cooling strategies and daylight harvesting, every detail is rooted in harmony with nature.

A home where architecture breathes with the land.

We're delighted to share that our latest eco-friendly tiny house project has been spotlighted by a leading YouTube channel Come on everybody by Sachin & Pinchu

This unique home was designed without disturbing the natural sloped terrain, turning it into an asset rather than a challenge. Built with sustainable mud block walls and a truss roof, the design follows a Kerala-style climate-responsive approach. This ensures the house is both environmentally friendly and perfectly adapted to its surroundings.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful family Sajid Ajmal & Nazreen P Nazeer who played an active role in every stage of the design and construction. Their dedication was key to creating this beautiful, sustainable, and cost-effective home.

Special thanks to the “Come on everybody” YouTube channel for the fantastic video and awesome presentation . Your work truly captures the essence and beauty of this project!
