Our Company hosts regular Industry visits from the best Architecture Colleges as part of our program to engage with the next generation of architects.
As we do every year, we recently hosted some budding architects from the prestigious Chandigarh College of Architecture in our Company Office and Factory under the guidance of Arch Ashutosh Mukherjee and Arch Kamal.
Coincidentally, Mr Michael Julino, our consultant from Germany, was also present during the visit and the students got a bonus introduction to German standards in Kitchens and Wardrobes.

Our MD Mr Rajen Mohan Varma had invited Mr. Michael Julino, Master Cabinet Maker from Germany to guide us to improve our quality and our manufacturing processes and bring them up to international standards. After a wait of over 12 months, Mr Julino was finally able to squeeze our assignment into his busy schedule and we got the chance to host him in Chandigarh for a 3 week assignment.
Mr Michael Julino is the founder of Julino Gmbh. As anyone who has been to Germany knows, the German customer is very very demanding and wants the best of the best quality. Over a career spanning almost 4 decades, Mr Julino has successfully run a cabinet making business in the cut throat competitive German market.
We had the once in a lifetime chance to have him spend 3 weeks with us in our factory in Chandigarh and have him point out all the areas of improvement. He exceeded all our expectations and provided us the necessary guidance and hand holding to bring our manufacturing processes up to German standard.
We are proud to say that our termite proof and water proof Modular Kitchens commanded respect in the eyes of Mr Julino and raised the respect for Made in India products in his eyes.

Our team attended the Perth Home Show in Perth, Australia this week. We showed samples of our Water Proof and Termite Proof kitchen cabinets to the exhibitors and other visitors. The product was very well accepted by everyone present for use in outdoor barbecue kitchens in the city of Perth.

Australian suburban homes are the largest in the world, even larger than suburban homes in the US, data shows. Entertaining guests and friends over a friendly barbecue on the weekend is very popular in Australian culture. Outdoor Kitchens require high quality cabinets and shutters that must be immune to the weather like rough thunder storms as well as intense sunlight. The barbecue oven requires the cabinet to be heat resistant and fire proof as well. Our kitchen cabinets developed over the past few years by Dutch, German and Japanese assistance suit the purpose perfectly.

After successfully capturing the market in North India for wet kitchens, we are looking forward to start sales in Perth, Australia soon.

We hosted Mr Mayank Bansal, the National Head for OEM Sales at Hafele India, at our Chandigarh office. He was very happy to see our unique product. We shared various ideas on how Indian companies can learn from our German and Japanese counterparts to manage our operations more effectively to create better value for our customers.
Grace Locks Limited and Hafele India Pvt Ltd have had a long and time tested relationship that has lasted over 15 years. We discussed how we can evolve our relationship and our companies to prepare ourselves for success in "New India".

As you are aware, Grace Locks Limited has been instrumental in implementing the latest Japanese Lean Manufacturing Practices and European Automation Technology to improve the quality of our Kitchen Manufacturing Practices. We have won numerous awards and gained recognition for our efforts.
Our Director, Reuben Varma, was invited by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises to the Mach Auto Expo 2014 in Ludhiana to share his experience and insights on implementing Lean Practices and Automation Technology in the workplace. Several Leading Consultants and Ministry Officials were present at the conference along with Senior Officials from the Ludhiana and Mohali Industries Associations. The audience comprised of many leading industrialists from all over North India.
Mr Reuben Varma shared his views and experience with special attention to managing culture change in a big organisation. The talk was very well received and was followed by an informal discussion over tea. Over all, it was a conference in which innovative ideas were discussed and every company came out with something to gain.

Mr Rajen Mohan Varma (MD) invited his counterpart Mr Anil Goel, MD of Hettich India, to visit our factory in Chandigarh. Recently, Mr Goel was on tour to Chandigarh and he visited us for a friendly exchange of ideas and factory visit. He was accompanied by Mr Gaurav, Mr Gurpreet and Mr Mridul, Head of Marketing for India, North Zone and Chandigarh respectively. The visit lasted over 3 hours with ideas from Kitchen industry to entry of IKEA to Modi Government to GST being discussed.
Mr Gaurav has already booked a kitchen from us and Mr Goel left with a commitment that whenever he needs a kitchen in his house, Grace Locks Limited would receive the order.

Mr Reuben Varma was invited by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Government of Germany to be part of a 22 person group to participate in the Indo German Manager Training Program in May 2014. The program was a 4 week course in Germany which included immersion in German culture and society, numerous factory visits, cultural exchanges, workshops, seminars and brainstorming sessions all at the expense of the German Government. In the end, Mr Reuben Varma was presented with a Certificate to be "Fit for Partnership with Germany" which will make it easier for Grace Locks Limited to do business with Germany Companies. The alumni from this group include dozens of companies from Russia, Japan, South East Asia and India, who will now be able to network and discuss ideas on how to grow their businesses. The program coincided with the FIFA World CUp 2014, which made it even more enjoyable.
