Energy Efficiency
DC pump is more efficient than AC pump and requires less solar panels to operate.
Service life
For the Life span, DC solar pump has longer lifetime compared to AC solar pumps because the DC solar pumps are made up of Brushless DC Motors. Rotor of a brush less DC motor is made up of high strength magnets & will not dissipate heat from coils like AC motors. The heating up of rotor coils in the AC pump motor will in turn heats up the bearings and can cause early coil failure and mechanical failure, respectively.
Noise & Vibration
DC pump is less noisy and vibration level is very low compared to AC Pumps. Because DC pump uses internal BLDC motor with high manufacturing technology while AC pump uses old induction motor technology, moreover the noisy sound of AC pump will increase with time usage increase.
Price
The price of AC solar pump will be less expensive than DC pump, but the final price of the whole system which includes components like controller and solar panels will be less expensive in terms of price / output power of water. This is because DC system will require less solar panels and the Inverter used in AC pump system is relatively expensive.
