Here is something most customers never see.
When your solar takes longer than you expected, the panels and the labour rarely cause the delay. The net meter causes it.
Your normal meter cannot tell the difference between power coming in and power going out. It counts both as usage. So until TANGEDCO fits the net meter, they bill you for the extra solar power you send to the grid instead of crediting it.
TANGEDCO fits that meter, not us. Feasibility visit, sanction, meter deposit, meter fixing. The section office controls every stage. In Chennai this usually takes 4 to 8 weeks after we finish. Outside the city it takes longer.
We can install your system in days. We cannot install that meter. So we chase the section office every week until it reaches your wall.
Anyone who promises you savings from day one has not told you this part.
