The community kitchen at Sri temple in has adopted cookers. Piyush Goyal , 's Minister of State for Power,Coal and New & Renewable Energy( ) has awarded the Concentrated solar thermal and Solar cooker excellence award to this project.Food is cooked for more than 25,000 people everyday by using solar power , thus saving cooking gas of INR 20,000. Although Sai is not the first to implement solar, I would like to highlight here some more popular shrines that have been largely benefited by solar cookers. In fact world's largest solar cooking system is in devasthanam. Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Delhi, Muni Seva Asharam in Gujarat, ISKCON to name a few have solar energy implemented .
