proudly celebrates the extraordinary journey of Shri Saket Gupta, Executive Director & Chief of Institute – ATI ONGC Goa, as he marks his superannuation, a moment that signifies the culmination of a career defined by versatility, leadership, and an enduring commitment to building people and institutions.

Shri Gupta joined ONGC in 1989 and went on to craft a professional journey that was as diverse as it was distinguished. From maintaining well-logging tools in Jorhat, to handling satellite and terrestrial communication systems in Mumbai Offshore and Delhi, and later transitioning into HR, corporate affairs, international business support, and institutional leadership, his career reflects an exceptional ability to adapt, learn, and lead across domains.

His journey spanned Jorhat, Mumbai, Delhi, Agartala, ONGC Videsh, and Goa. As Executive Assistant to Director (HR), he contributed to CSR policy, planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives; as In-charge HR/ER at Agartala, he strengthened people and processes at the field level; and later, as Head – Corporate Affairs Group, he helped shape stakeholder engagement and corporate coordination.

A defining chapter came with ONGC Videsh, where he served as Head – Corporate Support Services and later as CEO, Imperial Energy, Russia, leading in an international operating environment, creating exceptional value and carrying ONGC’s leadership ethos beyond India’s shores.

In his final assignment as Chief of Institute – Advanced Training Institute (ATI), Goa, Shri Gupta brought together decades of cross-functional experience not only to contribute to capability building, leadership development, and the nurturing of future-ready ONGCians but also to the creation of infrastructure and systems that take ONGC into a new business of offering its venue for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.

Known for his adaptability, composed leadership, and ability to connect technology, people, and strategy, Shri Saket Gupta leaves behind a legacy that transcends function and geography.

With every system strengthened, every team empowered, and every institution enriched, he has left an imprint that will continue to inspire generations of ONGCians.

's warmly welcomes Shri Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem as Director (Production).

A mechanical engineer with an MBA from , Shri Nettem began his ONGC journey at Mumbai High in 1991. He brings over three decades of experience spanning offshore and onshore operations, business development, field development and joint venture management.

He has played pivotal roles in Mangala oilfields joint venture and the Barmer–Bhogat heated crude oil pipeline and ONGC’s downstream expansion. His tenure with ONGC Videsh further strengthened his international upstream experience.

At Assam Asset, he led efforts to sustain and enhance production from mature fields. At Mumbai High Asset, he provided strategic direction on production, redevelopment, asset integrity, and HSE.

As Director (Production), Shri Nettem brings deep operational expertise, strategic foresight and a strong technology orientation to further strengthen ONGC’s production performance and contribution to India’s energy security.

strikes gas in the deep waters of Mahanadi Basin.

MDW-28, the maiden well of ONGC’s current deepwater campaign in the Mahanadi Basin is flowing gas with encouraging rates and sustained reservoir pressure.

The campaign was launched on 25 July 2026 by Hon'ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri , with the spudding of MDW-28 (MN-DW18-1-H-D) in the deep offshore Mahanadi Basin, aligned with the Government's Samudra Manthan initiative.

The well was perforated on 18 September 2026 following evaluation of subsurface data. It is currently flowing with a good gas rate and healthy reservoir pressure. During operations, ONGC
, Director (Technology & Field Services) and Director (Exploration) visited the drillship to interact with and encourage the crew onboard. This find, along with other discoveries in the area, can be a candidate for development through shared facilities enabled by the PNG Rules, 2025, bringing deepwater resources onstream.

ONGC will continue to push into deep and ultra-deepwater frontiers in the search for hydrocarbons, and towards India's goal of energy security.

Hopefully, a new chapter in India's energy frontier.

proudly celebrates the extraordinary journey of Shri Ravi Shankar, Executive Director, as he marks his superannuation, a milestone that reflects nearly four decades of distinguished service, exemplary leadership, and unwavering commitment to advancing India’s energy security.

A Petroleum Engineering graduate with distinction from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and an MBA in Finance, Shri Ravi Shankar joined ONGC in 1987 as a Graduate Trainee during the commissioning of the BPA Platform in Mumbai Offshore. Over the next nearly 39 years, he built an illustrious career spanning offshore and onshore production operations, well services, project ex*****on, asset leadership, offshore management, and people leadership.

His early years in Mumbai Offshore laid the foundation for a career rooted in field excellence. He later moved to Ahmedabad and Jorhat, where, in leadership roles in Work-over Services, he strengthened HSE practices, improved resource planning, and introduced production-enhancement interventions, including gel-based water shut-off technology, contributing to higher efficiency and production gains.

Returning to Mumbai Offshore, Shri Ravi Shankar played a pivotal role in the commissioning and management of the technologically complex B-193 super-sour Gas Processing Platform. As Surface Manager, he drove initiatives that improved production reliability, reduced operational losses, optimized costs, and reinforced a strong safety culture across Western Offshore.

His leadership journey continued as Asset Manager – Neelam & Heera and later Asset Manager – Bassein & Satellite, where he steered one of ONGC’s most important gas-producing assets through a phase of sustained operational excellence. Under his stewardship, Bassein & Satellite Asset achieved notable milestones in production, reliability, safety, and innovation, earning recognition as one of ONGC’s best-performing assets.

As Executive Director – Western Offshore, he provided strategic leadership to India’s largest offshore producing province, overseeing field operations, development activities, pipeline integrity, emergency preparedness, and cross-functional coordination. His ability to combine technical depth with balanced judgement and collaborative leadership strengthened operational resilience across the offshore ecosystem.

In the final chapter of his career, Shri Ravi Shankar brought his vast operational experience into the people function, championing leadership development, employee engagement, collaboration, and organisational excellence, reinforcing the belief that empowered people remain the foundation of enduring performance.

Recipient of several corporate honours, including the prestigious “Manager of the Year” Award in 2015 for outstanding management of the B-193 Process Platform, he is admired for his technical excellence, integrity, humility, and people-centric leadership.

With every platform commissioned, every asset strengthened, every challenge navigated, and every team empowered, Shri Ravi Shankar has left an imprint that extends far beyond designation. His legacy reflects the very best of ONGC’s values, technical excellence, innovation, collaborative leadership, and service to the nation.

100 Safai Mitras underwent health check-ups and received essential medical care and support.

The sanitation workers were also sensitised about various social, financial and health security schemes of the Government of India and the Government of West Bengal, helping strengthen awareness of the support and safety nets available to them.

proudly celebrates the extraordinary journey of Shri Vinod Kumar Chaudhary, Executive Director & Chief Information Officer, as he marks his superannuation, a moment that signifies the culmination of a legacy built on engineering excellence, digital transformation, and steadfast service to India’s energy sector.

An Electrical Engineer by training, Shri Chaudhary joined ONGC in 1989 and began his career on the offshore drilling rig Sagar Kiran in Mumbai. From managing critical electrical systems offshore to leading engineering services, project management, CBM initiatives, and eventually ONGC’s information and communication systems, his career reflects remarkable versatility and an ability to evolve with the organisation’s changing technological landscape.

His professional journey spanned Mumbai, Silchar, Ahmedabad, Bokaro, Agartala, and Delhi, where he handled diverse responsibilities across electrical and instrumentation systems, major maintenance planning, engineering services, project ex*****on, and strategic coordination. At Bokaro, he contributed significantly to CBM operations and the North Karanpura JV, while his tenure in Tripura further strengthened ONGC’s engineering services capabilities.

In senior leadership roles, including CEA to Director (Technology & Field Services) and later Chief Infocom, Shri Chaudhary brought together decades of field experience and strategic insight to strengthen ONGC’s digital and communication backbone. His stewardship helped reinforce reliable information systems, enterprise connectivity, and technology-driven decision-making across the organisation.

A defining aspect of his recent leadership has been his push to bring Artificial Intelligence from concept to application within ONGC. Through initiatives such as the AI Task Force and the internally conducted UDBHAV AI Hackathon, he helped build organisational capability and catalyse the development of powerful AI use cases across functions, with the potential to unlock

proudly celebrates the remarkable journey of Dr. Kaustav Nag, Executive Director, as he marks his superannuation after more than three and a half decades devoted to exploration, geoscience, and advancing India’s energy security.

A geologist and PhD in Applied Geology, Dr. Nag joined ONGC in 1989, beginning a career that would take him from well-site operations to the forefront of India’s national exploration agenda. His journey across Karaikal, Jodhpur, Agartala, Dehradun, Jorhat, Mumbai and Delhi encompassed field geology, basin evaluation, exploration monitoring, strategic planning, business development and frontier exploration.

During nearly 15 years at ONGC’s Exploration & Development Directorate, his work spanned the Assam & Assam-Arakan, Mahanadi–Bengal–Purnea and Andaman basins. His technical contributions supported discoveries in Mahanadi Offshore and the Bengal Basin, alongside reserve estimation, prospect evaluation, play-based exploration strategy and the expansion of exploration into Category-II and III frontier basins.

His journey subsequently moved from ONGC’s exploration desk to the national stage. On deputation to the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons ( ), Dr. Nag serves as Additional Director General (Exploration), with responsibilities spanning exploration across India’s 26 sedimentary basins. His tenure has encompassed OALP and Discovered Small Field rounds, major national geoscientific data acquisition programmes, stratigraphic drilling and contributions to reforms in India’s upstream regulatory framework.

Equally significant has been his contribution to emerging energy frontiers. As head of DGH’s Hydrocarbon Efficiency & New Energy (HENE) Department, Dr. Nag has led work spanning Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), geothermal energy and natural hydrogen, including basin-wise assessment of CO₂ storage potential and geothermal provinces. He has also served on several inter-ministerial committees on CCUS, methane monitoring and geothermal energy, contributing his geoscientific and upstream expertise alongside representatives from ministries including the Ministry of Earth Sciences (Ministry of Earth Sciences Government of India) and the Ministry of Science & Technology (Department of Science and Technology, Government of India).

Beyond exploration and policy, Dr. Nag has remained deeply engaged with the wider scientific community. A life member of several scientific bodies and professional societies, he has authored more than 20 research and technical papers, served on Boards of Studies of several Indian universities, and presented and delivered lectures at numerous national conferences and professional fora.

His expertise has also taken India’s upstream perspective to prominent international E&P forums across Houston, Aberdeen, London, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Stavanger, reflecting a professional journey that connected Indian geoscience with the global exploration community.

From interpreting the rocks beneath India’s sedimentary basins to helping shape the country’s exploration policy and new-energy agenda, Dr. Kaustav Nag leaves behind a legacy where science met strategy, knowledge met policy, and exploration met nation-building.
