proudly celebrates the extraordinary journey of Shri Vivek Chandrakant Tongaonkar, Director (Finance), as he marks his superannuation, a moment that signifies the culmination of a legacy built on numbers, nuance, and unwavering financial stewardship.

From the intricate corridors of offshore project finance to the strategic helm of ONGC and its group entities, including MRPL, Shri Tongaonkar charted a path defined by precision, integrity, and quiet authority. An Electrical Engineer and MBA by qualification, he joined ONGC in 1987 and went on to shape the financial backbone of some of the organisation’s most complex operations.

His nearly four-decade-long journey spans offshore construction projects, joint venture finance, corporate accounts, taxation, and strategic financial governance. From handling finance for Panna-Mukta & Tapti JVs to steering financial operations across Assam, Western Onshore Basin, Mumbai High, Corporate Offices, and contributing to group-level financial oversight, he was never just managing accounts, he was enabling decisions that powered ONGC’s growth.

In leadership roles including Chief Offshore Finance, CFO, Chief Corporate Finance, and ultimately Director (Finance), Shri Tongaonkar played a pivotal role in strengthening financial systems, ensuring fiscal discipline, and aligning financial strategy with ONGC’s long-term vision across its ecosystem.

With every balance sheet strengthened, every project enabled, and every system refined, he has left an imprint that goes far beyond designation. He leaves behind not just a function, but a legacy of financial prudence, institutional strength, and enduring trust.

are trained for the toughest emergencies, responding swiftly not just to safeguard ONGC’s operations, but often as first responders for surrounding communities. At its core, this commitment is about protecting people, assets, and the world we operate in.

At Kalol GIDC, a sudden fire, triggered by an electrical short circuit, rapidly escalated, fuelled by plastic rolls, solvents, and combustible materials. Within moments, the situation threatened to turn catastrophic.

The response was immediate. Mobilizing without hesitation, ONGC Fire Services confronted dense smoke, extreme heat, and unpredictable flames. With precision and discipline, water and AFFF foam were deployed to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.

After over an hour of relentless firefighting, the fire was brought under control, safeguarding nearby units, assets, and lives.

Because when it matters most, preparedness is the difference between escalation and control.

A defining step forward in ’s digital evolution.

On 18 April 2026, the Integrated Digital Solution of the Production Operation Control Centre (NETRA) was inaugurated at the Institute of Production Engineering and Ocean Technology (IPEOT) by Director (Production) , marking a powerful shift from data to decisions, from insight to impact.

Guided by the vision of “Bytes to Barrel,” the POCC brings together real-time production data, advanced analytics, well and network models, optimization workflows, and digital twin technologies into a single, intelligent platform.

This is more than a system. It is a new way of operating.

Faster decisions. Smarter production. A future shaped by precision and innovation.

are equipped and trained to respond to some of the most hazardous fire situations, often stepping in as first responders not just for ONGC operations, but for surrounding communities as well. It reflects a larger commitment: protecting people, assets, and the world we operate in.

At GIDC, Mehsana, a highly flammable chemical fire escalated rapidly, fuelled by volatile inks, solvent vapours, and explosion-prone drums. Within minutes, ONGC Fire Services were on the scene, confronting intense heat, dense smoke, and repeated blast risks.

What followed was precision under pressure, foam deployed to suppress vapours, water used strategically to cool and contain, and coordinated firefighting to prevent the blaze from spreading to adjacent industrial units.

The outcome: a major industrial disaster averted. No injuries. Controlled damage. Lives and infrastructure protected.

Because in high-risk environments, response is not just about speed, it’s about strategy, skill, and discipline.

Fire Services are trained for the toughest situations, but for them, it’s always about one thing first: protecting lives.

In Dehradun, a routine day turned critical when a worker was left stranded atop a high-tension pole after electrocution. Seconds mattered. So did precision.

What followed was not just response, it was skill in action.
A rapid assessment. Power isolation. A carefully executed rescue.
And a life brought safely back to the ground.

This wasn’t just an operation. It was preparedness meeting purpose.

Because when every second counts, training, teamwork, and calm ex*****on make the difference.

A quiet night. A still yard. Nothing seems wrong, until it is.

At Odalarevu, a silent build-up became a fire. A swift, coordinated response contained it in time.

The real lesson wasn’t in how we responded, it was in what caused it.
Most fires don’t begin with a spark. They begin with an oversight.

This , we reaffirm:
🛡️ Prevention 👁️ Vigilance ⚙️ Preparedness

Safety is not a reflex. It’s a discipline, practised every day, long before sirens are needed.
