proudly celebrates the remarkable journey of Shri Pradeep Kumar Goel, Executive Director - Head – Inventory, Stock & Disposal, as he marks his superannuation, bringing to a close nearly four decades of dedicated service shaped by procurement excellence, resource stewardship, and institutional commitment.

A Mechanical Engineer by qualification, Shri Goel joined ONGC in 1987 and built an extensive career in Materials Management, spanning the entire spectrum of purchase, inventory, stores, procurement, and supply-chain functions. His journey across Mumbai, Panvel, Dehradun, Jorhat, and Delhi gave him a deep understanding of ONGC’s operational requirements and the critical role that efficient materials management plays in keeping the organisation’s vast energy operations moving.

Beginning his career in Purchase at Mumbai, he went on to handle Purchase & Stock at Panvel before assuming increasingly important responsibilities in Dehradun, including In-charge – Purchase & Stock, Central Stores, and PMC. His subsequent tenure as In-charge – Materials Management at Jorhat brought his expertise closer to field operations, strengthening the interface between procurement systems and operational priorities.

His career then moved to the corporate helm in Delhi, where he served across key Materials Management assignments before becoming Head Purchase – Corporate MM. In these roles, Shri Goel contributed to strengthening procurement processes and ensuring that critical materials and resources remained aligned with the evolving requirements of ONGC’s operations.

In the final phase of his distinguished career, as Head – Inventory, Stock & Disposal, he brought decades of institutional experience to the strategic management of ONGC’s inventory and material resources. His progression from an MM Officer in 1987 to Executive Director in 2023 reflects a professional journey built steadily through experience, responsibility, and commitment.

proudly celebrates the extraordinary journey of Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma, Executive Director & President – Western Offshore, as he marks his superannuation, a moment that signifies the culmination of a legacy built on drilling excellence, offshore leadership, and unwavering commitment to India’s energy security.

A Mechanical Engineer by training, Shri Sharma joined ONGC in 1987 and built a distinguished career that traversed the rig floors of Agartala, offshore drilling in Mumbai, strategic planning, logistics, asset management, and ultimately the leadership of Western Offshore. His journey from a Driller to President – Western Offshore reflects the depth of experience, resilience, and operational insight that defined his nearly four-decade-long association with ONGC.

From serving as Tool Pusher on offshore rig Sagar Jyoti to leading deep onshore drilling operations in Agartala, managing rigs in Mumbai, and later steering resource planning and drilling operations for B&S Asset, Shri Sharma developed a rare understanding of both field ex*****on and strategic coordination. His experience across Agartala, Mumbai, Delhi, and Panvel shaped a leadership style grounded equally in technical rigour and practical wisdom.

In senior leadership roles as Head – Nhava Supply Base, Chief Offshore Logistics, Asset Manager – Mumbai High Asset, and finally President – Western Offshore, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the operational backbone of ONGC’s offshore business. He also contributed significantly to ONGC’s collaboration with bp for the Mumbai High field, helping bring together technical expertise, operational experience, and strategic alignment to unlock greater value from one of India’s most important producing assets.

Known for his calm authority, hands-on leadership, and deep connect with field teams, Shri Sharma earned the respect of colleagues across generations. He was never just leading operations, he was building confidence, enabling teams, and reinforcing the discipline and resilience that define ONGC’s offshore spirit.

With every rig mobilised, every offshore challenge navigated, and every team empowered, Shri Ajay Kumar Sharma has left an imprint that goes far beyond designation. He leaves behind a legacy of operational strength, dependable leadership, and enduring service to the nation’s energy mission.

Strengthening well control competency. Advancing safer drilling.

’s Well Control School at the Institute of Drilling & Well Engineering (IDWE), Dehradun, successfully conducted a customised International Association of Drilling Contractors' (IADC) WellSharp Well Control Training Programme for the first batch of 21 ExxonMobil executives from 4 to 7 August 2026.

The programme blended classroom learning with hands-on rig exposure, practical exercises and advanced simulator-based scenarios, covering critical areas such as kick detection, well barriers, emergency response, pressure control and well integrity. Participants were also assessed through the internationally recognised IADC WellSharp examination.

Another milestone showcasing ONGC’s capability to deliver globally benchmarked, industry-relevant competency development for the upstream energy sector.

strengthens India’s deepwater exploration campaign, by placing the NOA for hiring of a second ultra-deepwater drillship DDKG2, which will be mobilised in the next 3-4 months.

The first rig is already deployed in the Mahanadi Basin and is drilling a deep water well. The development marks another important step in accelerating deepwater and ultra-deepwater exploration, unlocking India’s offshore hydrocarbon potential and reinforcing national energy security.

The mission to harness the vast energy potential beneath India’s seas is being pursued under the Government of India’s National Offshore Exploration Scheme.

has connected Khoraghat GGS-1 in Golaghat, Assam to the North East Gas Grid, enabling utilisation of nearly 1 lakh SCM of gas per day from Jorhat Asset.

With the Dergaon–Dimapur Pipeline connecting Nagaland to the North East Gas Grid and the National Gas Grid, this development strengthens gas access across the region.
