Ocean water ➡️ Drinking water 💧🌊

Tamil Nadu has proposed a ₹4,800 crore desalination plant at Minjur, near Chennai 🏗️

✅ 40 crore litres (400 MLD) of seawater turned into clean drinking water, every single day
✅ Will serve North Chennai, Avadi, Ponneri & Minjur
✅ A rainfall-independent water source for a fast-growing city

Water is not just a basic need. It's the foundation of every growing economy 📈

And behind every project like this are engineers who plan, design and build the lifelines that keep cities running 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

🪷 An airport inspired by a lotus, and it opens this December.

Vietnam's Long Thanh International Airport, near Ho Chi Minh City, is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia. Its terminal roof takes inspiration from the lotus, Vietnam's national flower.

📐 By the numbers:
🔹 Site area: ~50 sq km
🔹 Runway: 4 km long
🔹 Phase 1 capacity: 25 million passengers a year
🔹 Final capacity: 100+ million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo a year
🔹 Phase 1 opening: December 2026

🏗️ The engineering behind it:
A design this iconic needs serious engineering underneath. Long-span steel roof structures carry those curved "petals" over huge column-free spaces. The runway pavement has to handle the heaviest wide-body aircraft for decades. And all of it connects to the city through new expressways, bridges, and rail links.

This is exactly the kind of work infrastructure engineers do, and India's airport and highway boom needs more of them.

🎓 Want to build a career in infrastructure design? Our PG Program in Infra & Bridge Engineering covers real projects, industry software, and IS/IRC codes, with a strong focus on manual calculations.

📌 Admissions are open.

What if yesterday’s renewable energy technology could become tomorrow’s infrastructure? 🌱🌉

A wind turbine blade can generate clean energy for decades.

But what happens when the turbine reaches the end of its life?

That question is becoming increasingly important as thousands of wind turbines approach decommissioning.

Wind turbine blades are incredibly strong and durable—but that strength also makes them notoriously difficult to recycle using conventional methods. Many are made from complex composite materials that are challenging to break down.

Instead of treating these giant blades as waste, engineers are exploring a different question:

“What else can this material become?”

One fascinating example is the reported use of retired wind turbine blades as structural components in bridges and other infrastructure.

The idea doesn't stop at bridges.

Retired blades can potentially be repurposed into:

♻️ Pedestrian walkways
🏗️ Structural components
🌳 Park infrastructure
🛝 Playgrounds
🏠 Shelters and public spaces

This is circular economy thinking in action.

Instead of:

Make → Use → Discard

we move toward:

Make → Use → Reuse → Reimagine

And that's an important shift.

Sustainability isn't only about inventing new technologies.

Sometimes, the most sustainable innovation is simply finding a second life for something we've already built.

As renewable energy expands globally, responsible end-of-life solutions will become just as important as deploying the technology itself.

Today's environmental challenge could become tomorrow's engineering opportunity.

Would you feel comfortable walking across a bridge made from retired wind turbine blades?

🏗️ From Ancient Wonders to Modern Marvels — Happy Engineers’ Day! 🌍

Thousands of years ago, engineers were already building structures that continue to amaze the world today.

From the Pyramids of Egypt, Roman aqueducts and ancient bridges to the Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge, massive dams, tunnels and modern skyscrapers — every era has been shaped by engineers who dared to solve problems that once seemed impossible.

Behind every great structure is a story of innovation, mathematics, design, precision and human determination.

This Engineers’ Day, we celebrate not just the structures, but the brilliant minds behind them — the engineers who transformed ideas into reality and continue to shape the future of our world.

To every engineer who designs, builds, solves and innovates — this day is for you. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️❤️

Happy Engineers’ Day!
Think. Design. Build. Innovate.

What if waste could become the foundation of something useful?

Jindal Steel, with CSIR-CRRI, has built a 1.85 km four-lane road in Raigarh using only processed steel slag, earning a Guinness World Records title for the world's longest road of its kind.

Around 2 lakh tonnes of slag replaced natural aggregates completely, cutting the need for quarrying.

What makes this interesting isn't just the record.

It shows how an industrial by-product can be looked at differently when innovation meets practical thinking.

Sometimes, the best solutions aren't about creating something completely new.

They're about finding a better use for what we already have.

The skyline doesn’t remember every engineer. It remembers the ones who designed it.

Every iconic skyscraper begins with someone who thought beyond drawings — someone who understood how a building breathes with wind, settles into its foundation, and stands firm when the ground shakes.

Our PG Program in High Rise & Tall Structure is built for exactly that mindset. From structural analysis to performance-based design, structural detailing, foundation design, wind engineering and seismic design — you’ll learn the exact skillset behind today’s tallest and toughest structures.

140+ learning hours. Live industry projects. Mentorship from practicing engineers. Placement assistance. Professional certification.

Whether you’re a civil engineering student, a fresh graduate, or a working structural engineer looking to specialize — this is where your high-rise journey begins.
