Strengthening Mumbai’s power network is about creating stronger connections that can deliver more power to the city.

The Kharghar-Vikhroli transmission line connects Navi Mumbai to Mumbai, bringing an additional 1,000 MW of power into the city.

For this project, Sterlite Electric became the first company to supply ACCC to a 400 kV line in India.

The project includes approximately 74 circuit km of 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines and integrates Mumbai with a 400 kV grid within its municipal limits for the first time.

Sterlite Electric’s solution also helped reduce the overall TCO of the line.

Building a smarter city through a digital infrastructure model designed for scale and long-term value.

Sterlite Electric Convergence partnered with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to develop a city wide underground optical fiber network through a DBFOOT (Design-Build-Finance-Own-Operate-Transfer) model. The partnership brought together GMDA’s Right of Way access and Sterlite Electric’s expertise in designing, financing, building, operating and maintaining a four-duct underground optical fiber network.

The project team built a dedicated 96-fiber duct powering Smart City infrastructure, including CCTV surveillance, traffic management and public Wi-Fi. Today, the network spans approximately 138 km, delivers 99.98% network uptime and the remaining capacity supports more than 20 telecom operators and internet service providers.

This partnership demonstrates how innovative infrastructure models can create sustainable digital connectivity and long-term value for cities.

For Rashid Nabi Dar, the move from college to the shop floor came with many questions.

How does classroom learning translate to a real manufacturing environment? What does it take to build a career beyond the classroom?

Sterlite Electric's Project Pragati became his introduction to that world.

Through hands-on training, exposure to live machines and the opportunity to learn across departments, Rashid began to understand how the things he had studied came to life on the shop floor. Along the way, he found colleagues and managers who encouraged him to ask questions, explore and keep learning.

Today, he sees Sterlite Electric as a place where he can continue to grow, take on new challenges and build a career his family can be proud of.

Project Pragati is creating similar pathways for diploma holders and young engineers from underrepresented communities, combining practical training with employment and long-term careers in manufacturing.

For Rashid, the journey began with his first job and continues with everything he can build from here.

Sterlite Electric is hiring a Head - QHSE to lead Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and ESG across our manufacturing plants, project sites and international operations.

Reporting to the CEO, this role will drive QHSE standards, continuous improvement, compliance and a strong culture of safety and quality across a complex, multi-site environment.

We’re looking for a leader with 15+ years of QHSE/HSE experience, ideally across manufacturing, infrastructure or energy, with a proven track record of leading QHSE at scale.

During his visit to Sterlite Electric’s conductor and OPGW manufacturing facilities, Ajiboye Oluwagbenga Emmanuel, ED Technical shared his perspective on the manufacturing setup, production processes, safety consciousness, and the quality of our products and solutions. Also highlighting our ability to offer both conductor and OPGW solutions under one roof, creating a more integrated approach for transmission projects.
